Recently, my computer is having trouble running videos. By that, it'll lag the audio when the video runs. When that doesn't occur, the video will run properly off the disc, but then the drive will freeze momentairly and then the audio lags again. Also some game DVDs and movie DVDs don't run period. I wiped my Cf-27 Panasonic Toughbook, it has NO CD DRIVE, bios works. I tried to install Win Xp I Dl of a site. (bad idea i know), now win98se is gone, and win xp wont start says has missing files, safe mode etc dont work. I just reinstalled windows vista, but can't get my dvd/cd rom to work.....shows it with exclamation point. I unistalled and tried reinstalling but still won't detect it. Anyone have the same problems?

Hello to all!! I have purchased the Windows 7 upgrade to install on my laptop which worked fine. The problem now is that I want to install it on my desktop but my desktop only has a cd-rom drive and Windows 7 only has a DVD. How can I install it?? I need someone's help!!!

Hi x zero90, Thanks for posting. XP is only available on CD-Rom. However there are other sites that list ways to install with a USB. This is not tested so can not be guaranteed by Microsoft. Also please make sure you have a known good backup before performing any format. Hope this helps!

Unplug both ends of the leads going to the drives and re-seat ensuring a good fit. With the power it makes no difference where it comes from or goes to just as long as you have the correct type of lead plugged in. It is just about impossible to put the wrong power connector in the wrong devise. If that will not work, unplug the CD/DVD and try and boot with just the hard drive plugged in....
