I have windows vista. When I try to rip music on windows...I have windows vista. When I try to rip music on windows mida player it tells me that "A CD drive is needed in order to rip music from CDs." What is that all about? I have a CD drive and it is not seeing it. Anyone got a idea?

My flash drive reads as a cd drive and keeps asking my to insert a cd so how do I get it to read as a flash drive on windows xp? 1 person needs an answer I do too

Can somebody recommend a good cd drive emulator for windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, I used daemon tools but it's not free anymore, so I'd like to find a replacement program even if it's not free. thanks in advance Jonny

Hi!! I wanted to install photoshop elements 7, I have the disk and the key code, but I just bought a new notebook laptop and it dosent have the cd rom drive. Is there anyway to download it online whithout having to buy a seperate cd rom drive, or a new PSE? Please help!!!

somehow my disk drive for cd/dvd has disappeared. i cant find them in device manager. im not sure how it disappeared, can someone please comment back and let me know how i may be able to get it back. i have an inspiron 1525, using windows vista, and im not that computer literate so im not sure what other information might be needed here. ty

it says the max it supports is 24x, so does this mean that i can only burn blank cd's that are 24x? cause i tried to burn a 54x cd the other day and it didn't work. and what does the x mean?

I have a Compaq CQ50WM....the CD drive spins but it won't read It'll play DVDs though... I've tried restarting, cleaned the lens & checked to make sure the drivers were current...anything else or is it toast?

Hi I currently have two gateway solo pro 9300's and one of them has a cd drive while the other has a cd/dvd drive. The laptop with the cd/dvd drive is broken due to a busted motherboard, i am pretty sure. The laptop with just the cd drive works perfectly. Both of our computers came up missing the cd drives this week. One was fixed with the microsoft "Mr. fixit" but this computer will not fix. Says there is a problem with the hardware. Obviously, in my computer there is no d drive recognized.

cd/dvd player opens accepts disc closes then nothing happens, if I select a program to play it , it says no supported drive found. If I open My Computer, E drive is not listed. 1 person needs an answer I do too
