Hi all, I'm new here and wondering if anyone else has had their blood sugar levels go UP while using Byetta. I searched previous posts on this medication here and found reports of weight loss, lower blood sugar, side effects and even an FDA warning, but no mention of sugar levels going up. Mine have been rising since the doc put me on Byetta, and I can't help thinking it must be the medication ...

Hi all, Currently on byetta but due to complications its been suggested I switch to victoza something I am not liking the sound of at that moment. As its method of action is similar to byetta I was wondering if we had any long term 1 yr or more byetta users. Inparticular was wondering if anyone who was started on byetta more than a year ago has lost enough weight that they have been in a ...

I have heard such positive comments about Byetta. It seems like a great alternative to Metformin etc. Has anyone heard when it might get cleared for distribution in Canada?

Amylin Pharma Byetta FDA letter concerns overblown, says Jefferies Dec 24, 2009 7:50:00 AM Jefferies said that the FDA's proposed Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy, or REMS, requirement is not surprising or onerous. The analyst actually views the post-approval study requirement for thyroid cancer as a positive for Byetta and the GLP-1 class. He is encouraged because the risk-benefit of ...

Just got back from my doctor and he is saying that I have 2 months to get my A1C down from 12.6 or I will need to start taking insulin. I have taken Byetta in the past. Are the insulin shots similar to the Byetta shots?

One major difference between Lira and Byetta is the dose. Byetta is working with mcg and Lira is working with mg. A big difference. Projection - Lira is going to have more adverse events than Byetta when it gets into the commercial world. It could be a drag on this class of drug. The other difference, Lira has a better team to counteract the issues.

Hello, I started on .5 byetta a week or so ago but I stopped cause I was feeling fluish and really didn't want to add to it by bringing on byetta nausea too. So, today I am feeling better and decided to inject before supper. I felt good until a 1/2 hour later when the blood sugar rug got pulled out from under me and I crashed.( It's so weird that a bsl of 76 made me feel sooooo badly!) ...

2010 our insurance changed to a high deductable program, which means we have to meet a $2500.00 deductable before our co pay kicks in on office visits and prescriptions. I am currently taking Actos, Amaryl and 3 montha ago started using the Byetta Pen shots. The Byetta has done wonders to bringing down my sugar levels. The problem I have now with the insurance change, my out of pocket without a ...

The agency already has there hands full with another GLP-1 in Byetta. The dose Lira is A LOT more than the micrograms Byetta is injecting. The other troubling question for Lira is what is the dose? The doses used in the P3 trials were quite diverse. At what dose do you see issues with the thyroid? The number of patients is limited with different studies at different doses. Typically you...

There have been numerous studies that have shown increase in beta cell mass and beta cell proliferation in rodents. However, the evidence in humans is less certain. Although there is evidence of “improved beta cell health” in diabetics who use Byetta, there has not been any published clear evidence of beta cell proliferation. It is possible that the beta cell physiology is different between ...

I visited my intern for my quarterly checkup. I told her my readings have been normal since I started Byetta nearly four years ago and continue to be so. I mentioned the LAR version before the FDA and she told me for a second or third time that she is not seeing efficacy (at all) with Januvia. I believe that Januvia is an "emperor has no clothes" story and MRK has pulled the ...
