Hello, A quick scan of the FAQs and previous posts didn't turn up anything along this problem so... I've got a '05 Baja with ~70K miles on it (minor non-turbo related mods). I've been running Mobil 1 5W/30 since the first change and have always noticed that it will use a bit of oil between my 7500 mile changes. It's garage parked and I don't see any leak evidence, so I tried an ...

Hi friends and a Happy New Year!!! I have the following question. When I go out of my car after aggressive driving I can clearly feel the smell of burning oil near the front of my car. So is it normal, or not? Aggressive driving which I mean is just stepping on the gas pedal to the floor and running engine to 6500 RPM every time you begin driving and nothing more crazy (like drifting, or ...

I have a freshly built 1100. Its a 1277cc 10:1 motor with a ported head, web cams, built bottom end. I just picked up this bike from the guy who had it built and he said that it was all just recently done. Is is normal for the bike to burn oil while running? and what would cause this?

I have a 2003 A6 2.7T. I recently had the 85k/mi maintenance performed by a garage I have been happy with for routine maintenance. When I got my car back I noticed a strong burnt synthetic smell once the car warmed up. Could be oil, coolant, Pwer Steering fluid. Not sure. The cooling fan will also stay on for about 20 minutes after the car has been shut off (didn't do this ...

So, my GT-S has been burning oil about a quart and a half after 2500 miles or so. My mechanic recommends me to use synthetic blend 10W-30 and added Lucas oil stabilizer on my next oil change (somewhere next week). I've been using Mobil1 Fully Synthetic 5W-30 since the first oil change (back in 2000). I have few questions. Is it safe to downgrade the oil from fully synthetic to syntehtic ...

I could smell it outside of the car, not in the cabin. Now (next day) smell is still there but not as strong. I'm guessing some oil spilled somewhere and is being burned off??? (I don't know jack ...
