I have a 95 buick that has slow acceerleration when you press the gas. In addition the harder you press the gas the engine stutters. The check engine light comes on and off. I was thinking (or hoping) this was a wire or filter issue. Any ideas?

I got a 1995 buick riviera about 3 months ago and it was fine its a nice car then the other day it started chugging and wanting to bog out in reverse but it was doing fine in drive then the next day it died and now it wont even start, i have changed the coil packs but im thinking its a fuel thing it will start if you keep your foot on the gas and reve the whole time........ i am at wit end on ...

At randoms times, 2 seconds after i start the car it will start shaking and turn off, it will keep doing this unless i rev the engine just after starting it up.

When driving, my car has all power any other time, it shifts fine, but when i go over 40 mph, the problem starts occuring quite often. If i just hold the gas down all the time it will accelerate fine, but when i let off the gas and coast or just have the gas held enough to stay at a constant speed, it will start to occur. I took a '96 Riviera in on trade. Miled up (155K), but a decent car. 3.8L Supercharged. A couple of bolts in the right motor mount have broken.
