There is a lady in northern CA with a 73 Century, rust free 4dr with a 350 2bbl and a 3 on the tree (3spd std) I didn't know they even made them. She wants to redo the car. She has had 3 or 4 people look at the engine but she is not sure that they know anything about buick engines and wants someone that does know them so she can get it rebuilt with confidence. Chris

I am looking for an engine either a Cadillac (331, 365, 390) or a Buick Nailhead (364, 400, 401). I prefer a running engine but would consider a long block engine. PM me if you have or know of one.

This is my first post. I have read many threads but I am having a hard time narrowing down the information as to my own project. The picture in my profile is my Buick. When I bought it someone had installed a buick 400 in it. I recently purchased a 72 Buick 455 motor from the local classifieds. I want to start the build on the motor ASAP. First, does anyone know of a machine shop...

Am restoring a 50 Special as a driver. Would like to know what the exact colors are for things such as oil filter canister, accessory mounting brackets, generator fan, etc. Is there a publication out there that could assist me, unless someone on this forum is able to?

not all of them are interchangeable. you got the mounts to think about. plus the transmission bell is different between a buick and chevy. you probably could change it if you have the transmission that, s for both the chevy and buick but a chevy transmission won,t fit a buick and a buick transmission won,t fit a chevy because the way the bell is made.

I have a 364 Buick engine pulled from my 59 LeSabre. Its being sold as a long block. Motor turns nice and freely and is probably standard bore. I pulled the heads off to check the cylinders, there is wear and could be re-rung or bored to next size. One head had a stuck valve and dropped a guide. Heads should be rebuilt. Engine had a bad lifter and several pushrods bent. I have ...

I've acquired a 1954 Buick Riviera Hardtop Special and need help in identifying engine. Trying to find harmonic balancer and exhaust manifolds but my casting numbers don't seem to jive! Block stamping is v2070385 with casting number 1348388-1. Both rh and lh head casting numbers are 1343840-5. Two barrel manifold casting has 1343965-2, water pump casting is 1343849-2, RH Exhaust casting is ...

I just got a 59 Buick that came with a 'so called' low milage 364 Nailhead engine and Dynaflow trans. After 7 bent pushrods, exploded lifter and a stuck valve, pulled the heads and there is a ridge in the cylinder the depth of a fingernail; I have determined the motor no good. The sad part is; I never got to hear the engine run. That's what you get when buying over the net. Anyways, ...

For some reason, cooling air is not being drawn through the radiator at idle (when moving, the air stream is moving the air through the radiator). Check that the fan is working properly. I don't know about your car, but if it has an electric fan, it turns on when a thermostat sensor signals that the engine reaches a preset temperature. A mechanical clutch fan works in a similar way, engaging ...
