Hello, I'm about to do an oil change on a 2000 Buick Century with the 3.1 in it and was wondering if there was anything tricky about this particular motor. I've changed oil in trucks before but not this car and am wondering if the oil filter is hard to reach or other things I should prepare for. Any advice would be very much appreciated. I have the standard oil filter wrench, not the fancy ...

the turn signal on the driver side is burned out i didn't see any screws under the hood to unscrewed to remove the lens form the front of the car and they aren't any on the out side of it either and it doesn't seem to just pop out so how can i change it?

Good morning, I have a '99 Century Custom with the 3100 engine. Back this summer I had to replace the wiring harness that controlled the headlams and turn signals, now lastnight on my way home, luckily i was a block from home I lost all power to the lights, the rears are working fine. I pulled both lamp assembly units and as soon as I took off the neoprene cap I smelled electrical smoke, to ...

The car has 59,000 miles on it. It runs perfect i have had it for about two years and i didn't have to do any major work on it just a few random parts were replaced. The body is almost perfect except for a minor dent in the front left side and the only rust on it is a grape sized rust spot on the dent. The inside is perfect. There are no stains on the seats or anywhere. i have just have a 200 ...

Hello everyone, I'm a long time LeSabre fan and I'm looking into buying a Century. The one I'm looking at is a 1999 Century with the 3.1 V6. My mother has a Malibu with the 3.1 V6 and her car has about 215k on it. My Questions Are the Centuries prone to the coolant gasket leak? Reliable? Since they are a W-body, are they a bit more nimble than my 1994 LeSabre? How are they for...

to answer your questions: yes, all GM 3.1 and 3.4 engines will need intake gaskets and/or head gaskets replaced usually around 100-140k miles depending on how it's driven and maintained. Yes and no. These cars are fairly reliable, minus the above mentioned engine issues and some electrical issues like the ignition switch, wipers and HVAC systems. But FYI, your LeSabre is a much more ...

What would cause this car to just stall out under acceleration? It's totally random, runs fine for a period and then all of a sudden it craps out on me. It starts back up, but takes a lot of cranking to get it to fire after it happens. I checked for trouble codes, and it didn't have any stored. I know the torque converter clutch solenoid is notorious for going bad on these cars, but I don't ...

A good friend of mine had the same problem with her car.Turned out the tranny was running hot.Because when it was raining outside, the car never shut off,nor in the winter time.Have the tranny checked. If that does nothing, you might have a bad fuel injector,or a bad fuel pump.

Turn signal switch assembly is probably bad. Turn the lights on and fondle the turn signal/bright light lever with force to see if the low beams come on. If so, replace the turn signal switch assembly.
