So I thought I would try my luck with a local (Illinois) weed tree know as Buckthorn. Pics, below, the stave is 80" long and about 4" in diameter. Any recommendations on intended design? My first inclination is an ELB, but I understand the S.P. on this wood is 0.52. Could it stand the compression of a D-section? My second thought is a 68" pyramid design with wide flat limbs. I sealed the ends ...

Which of these two soaps would you choose and why? I have tried the Aloe only once but was put off by a badly-smelling brush that I used to lather it. I have cream samples of both and to be honest both seem great - the Sea Buckthorn smells very good, as does the Aloe but the latter had the addition of being perfect for sensitive skin.

Hi Everyone, In mid October, I bought 6'tall/2'wide beautiful Italian Buckthorn shrubs in 5 gallon pots. I'm sad to say that they are now looking stressed. I probably overwatered them during the first couple weeks before I began reading this forum and gaining some knowledge. The nursery people told me to stick my finger into the soil and if it was dry to water them. Our temperatures here in ...

This little guy is Buckthorn.....a noxious invasive bush/small tree that I have a TON of on my property. They are a small tree, but WOW, I like this wood. It cracks easily and my pics don't do it justice...but it is 3-D awesome wood. Measures 6 1/2 wide x 2 1/4 tall. Walnut oil finish as it was a special order. Comment and critique away.

Got some fresh new C&S Calls before the Season started, but I've been using Mike's Calls since the beginning. Couldn't be more pleased. This pair is Brass Banded Buckthorn, and they worked quite well for the year. Last day tomorrow before I hang em up. Got a lot of good Mallards, and Pics this year. Thanks again Mikey.

Judged: 1 1 Michael Ganyaw - I totally agree. Humans have shown an amazing capacity to kill, and we've driven to extinction many species that used to be counted in the millions. I think a bounty should be used on the buckthorn that is ravaging our forests too. I think it would work better, distribute money to more people, and ellimnate these harmful species.

Hi Mam Simply mush the berries up pour the paste into a muslin cloth and apply to the area by wrapping around with a bandage to secure it. That s the idea of a compress in essence, but its a very messy and smelly job to do. Always worth a go though if the berries are abundant and free. Straight Sea Buckthorn oil is a deep orangey colour with a rather pungent scent remeniscent of rotting ...

Linda, I would probably check with a dermatologist. Sorry that your dd is suffering with this. I would think that the brown sugar would irritate, having tried that myself, and my skin is not that sensitive. Some tips: Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids , such as fish (three times a week), or flaxseed (start with half a teaspoon daily), or by taking omega-3 supplements. They have...
