Folks I just bought a TC. I read that I could use it as a "router" and by that I thought it meant I could use it to replace my current wireless box (IE the box that physically plugs into my phone line and transmits the wireless signal around my flat). Hi all, I bought a laptop a few months back that had a SIM slot for HSDPA broadband. I explained this to a Vodafone salesperson last week and they sold me a SIM card only, as I didn't need a USB Modem dongle. I previously used this Router with a Verizon Broadband USB GSM modem, but had to switch to AT&T (Laptop Connect with the Quicksilver GSM modem.) From your description, it sounds like your older device was a combination modem/router. The TC is a router only. You will need to look into obtaining a modem which will handle the phone connection and provide an ethernet signal to the TC so that it can function correctly.
