my breads are sinking after appearing to be done and are also not completely finished baking . Answer Richard: That is because they are not done. You cannot go by appearance. When a quick bread (zucchini brd is classified as a quick bread)or cake is done the top will spring back when touched and a toothpick inserted into the center will come out clean. I tried their rye and sourdough at a friend's recently. Very respectable bread. Friend raves about the oatmeal bread. Meets a real need in the area. They also have a cafe serving pizza and other items, check their website for limited hours and a list of offerings. http://www.copperangel.net/

I just now went in to turn the breads I have in the dehyd (Carrot Raisin, Blueberry, and Banana.) The Carrot and Blueberry were firm enough to put on the mesh without teflex. I don't see any advantage in turning a bread that is on mesh. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help. Annie

I've put a half pound in so far with the breads and dressing. Usually another half pound gets used up with the mashed potatatoe, vegies, basting the turkey and so on. So 1 pound for my family. I like to substitute applesauce for oil when I bake quick breads or cookies. I was wondering if there is a specific formula for such substitutions? I do tend to bake alot more sweets during the holidays. Cookies, pumpkin rolls, quick breads, etc. The cookies I bake I tend to make alot to give to family and friends that don't have the time. This year I'm going to try my hand at potica all by myself. lol I used to make it with my grandmother years ago. I got a new mixer so I plan on giving it a workout!
