I was doing some brake work on the Vanagon over the weekend and might need to replace my left side caliper. I went looking, and, while it won't help me, here is a right side caliper for $36.99 with no core charge, and loaded with pads at Rock Auto. (They don't have any left sides at that price). They have some other deals, too, but I thought this was particularly noteworthy. http://www....

So, I decided to do a little thanksgiving weekend project and paint my calipers. I didn't like the way the stock coating looked so porous and there were casting lines on the calipers and brackets. If you do this the way I did, be sure to set some time aside (2 days) if you are reusing your old calipers, or get a second set of calipers to work on. I did my project in three days because I didn't ...

Hi everybody, I am just mulling over the idea of upgrading my brakes. I know there are companies with kits like Brembo, Stoptech, and WilWood. But the upgrade would be expensive and I was wondering if it is even necessary? My car is a 04 C5 coupe. I have C5 Z06 replica wheels, 17 in front, 18 on the rear. It is a weekend car for ...

Hi, Has anyone got any good suggestions on the best way to compress a brake spring in the caliper bore and then be able to fit a circlip? I had to use picks to get the circlip out because no circlip pliers I could get my hands on could go in far enough. If it helps this is a rear brake caliper from a Nissan Primera. P11. Same as P11-144 and possibly P10s. ps I had mole grips ...
