Hi, I am learning computer hardware. There are certain terms which is not easy to understand. First what does you mean by a Bootloader . What is the function of this tool. Second what is MBR (Master Boot Record ). It is related to a hard drive but how it works. And the last thing I want to know that how can I initialize BIOS of a newly assembled system.

Hey guys. I recently built a Pinguino . It is a board similar to an Arduino, but with a PIC instead of an AVR. I want to burn this bootloader (below) recommended on the Pinguino page to my PIC18F2550, but I have no idea how to turn this into a usable .hex file for the PICkit2 software short of plugging it in one number/letter at a time. Is there an easy way to do this? Am I missing ...

I've added some files on BootLoader v2.0 download manager but problem is I've to start another file after finish one. Can I make a queue of the added flash files and start download so that files can download one after another automatically ?

i need help taking my bootloader screen off........ while i was updating the phone, there was a power outage that caused the process to shut off thus causing my phone to be screwed now. its stuck on the bootloader screen with the ph sig err 39:02 message. the flex version written on the screen is r479_g_08.b4.8dr.

Hey guys i accidently deleted all my seems using p2k comander (i know stupid) but now the bootup screen pops up for a second and then the phone just turns off. Bootloader still works tho, i have all the stock seems etc so is there anyway i can possibly put them back on my phone using bootloader? or another way? Thanks

My box can not enter main mode when i start the program the box is connected in bootloader mode but when i try to start the program for phones it will try few times to enter in main mode and on the end i will get not connected in the bottom of the screen and all diodes except RX one are lit. just for the sake of experimentation i decided to try flashing the 8.29 bootloader back onto the phone, and it worked. Now i can confirm my theory for downgrading the bootloader to 7.d0 by repeating the original process. Dont have the time to downgrade right now, but i will post the results later.
