I just got my 13" macbook pro back from the apple store after a repair and now whenever i boot up the computer a list of actions appears on a black screen in white text. It also happens when i shutdown the computer. The OS still boots up but does anyone know how to change the settings or something so that list doesn't appear.

Have an HP desktop running windows vista. Lately, about a week, whenever I boot up the computer I get this message Error: System fan has failed Service PC to prevent damage to the system Press F2 to continue When I press F2 to continue, the computer boots up properly and works well although slowly. So what could be the problem, and what would I ned to do to fix it?

Hi. My computer won't boot up past the welcome screen. I think my registry has been corrupted. I'm using XP with Norton and have installed Registry Booster. I've tried safe mode and booting from the installation disc but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to keep uTorrent from automatically starting up when I boot up my system? I tried to find something to shut this off in the different pull down menus, but could not find it. Thank you Mike

I've not had a single problem with 64 bit kernel since it runs 32 bit software too. "knock on wood" Of course you still can run 64 bit software on the 32 bit kernel but I do see an advantage, subjective or not, it just feels and runs better especially running all my 64 bit software. It could be just Voodoo....

Roger, et al, Thanks for the prompt responses. I ran Software Update, but I was already up to date, so there was nothing new to install. The drive seems to be working fine. I used it to load lots of programs, made some big iDVD videos, and made a DVD of some Quicktime movie files. I can live with this startup sound, but I asked the Apple tech about it and she's the one who ...

If you follow the lead from the tower fan I bet it is plugged directly into the motherboard to a System connector, thus the tower fan is recognized as a system fan. Which is common. Just replace it. If the processor fan is OK leave it alone. A tower fan is relatively cheap usually a 60mm or 80mm fan. It will eventually fail, and this fan is used to move air around inside the case.

Often, adjusting the angle helps momentarily, but if the cable is completely broken, you will see darkness at all angles....

Hi, If the Alienware support person you are waiting to hear from is in the US, we have some customary holidays coming up, so the 5 to 7 business days could actually take you out to the 28th of December. While waiting, you could start a new thread in the relevant sub forums here and see if you can get any assistance here. Good luck. EDIT: TO clarify, I mean try getting technical ...
