I have an inspiron 9300 with 100 GB HDD.  Recently I had a huge malware or even virus that slowed down my computer tremendously.  I took it to geeksquad and they where able to remove it, but it still ran a lot slower than I ever remembered. I decided to completely erase my hard drive with the program Wipe Drive and install in a newer Windows XP that my brother had. Now that wipe drive ...

Hi, I have a E6400 and cant install XP. After booting from CD, and loading all the files for windows setup, it gives a bluescreen error suggesting there is a virus. My most likely explanation is that the boot sector is write protected. However, after browsing all of the tabs in BIOS (version A17), ive not found any option to disable this. Can anyone point me to the location of this option?

Hi all, Haven't made a post in a long time and I'm surprised my account is still active. Here's the verdict; my laptop came shipped with an OEM Windows Vista installation. I wanted to dual-boot it with Windows XP but needed XP on the C: partition (plus the issue with older version of windows should be installed before a new version is installed) forced me to re-format, install XP SP3, ...

...but the data is all still there, and I'm hoping to save all my setups, authorisations etc. On a PC I'd simply make the drive bootable, from a cd which takes seconds, and saves the setup as is. There MUST be a way to do something similar on my Mac. It's 10.4.6. This is my second post on this - so I apologise, but I had but one response last time, which was to use the install and ...

Hi,   Base on my experience, if you want to use a partition larger than 2TB, you have to use dynamic MBR or dynamic GPT. By the way, I have seen some issue related to the block size of the partition. The solution is to ensure the LUNS are created with a block size of 512bytes - some people had been created with a block size of 4096 bytes - NTFS & clustering were working fine, but NO ...
