Recently I have started following the recent decision on the part of Amazon to merge BookSurge with Createspace and use CS's platform to publish all the books. And also that it is in talks with Ingram to provide books for global distribution. Legally, how does that affect Lulu's participation in the agreement signed in 2008. and how does that affect our books in distribution? Will Lulu ...

When you go to the Booksurge website it says it will be moving to CreateSpace. When books are approved for extended reach distribution they are sent to Booksurge to get to Amazon. How will this affect the Lulu extended reach distribution process?

This suddenly appeared in my Lulu account today: 132595 Gundog Training Made Easy -- BookSurge,LLC UK 141 £434.28 What the heck is Booksurge,LLC,UK? Is it perhaps the solution to the Amazon.co.uk problem we all got e-mailed about by Lulu last month?? It's nice to get all those additional sales but a wee explanation would be even nicer.

Hi Folks I realize I have had many a harsh word to say about Booksurge over the passed few years, however its time to eat crow!!! I recently published my latest book 'The Royal Navy & Me' thru Booksurge. Why Booksurge? well I shopped around and came to the conclusion they offered the best price, royalties and service. Plus the fact its probably better the devil you know! I was quite amazed by ...

... to Blair @ Lulu (and those whose names I don't know because I had no contact with them in the background wherever @ Lulu), as well as D. @ CreateSpace (now BookSurge/CreateSpace) for so efficiently (and even caringly) sorting the cunundrum with the Amazon.com listings. Together with my own 'product update' inputs, all three versions of books (from BookSurge, CreateSpace and Lulu) are ...

... must be amended from 'in print' to 'no longer in print' for both The Inca's Legacy: Karl May and Winnetou II: Karl May. Both ISBNs belong to BookSurge/CreateSpace respectively - isn't the impetous to change the status on the owner of those ISBNs? How would I know what to do there? (I know I'm talking about the same books - but the subject is different: 'Books In Print listing' ...

Someone, somewhere in this forum asked the question once 'why are the books not being taken off Amazon.com when I've cancelled them?' I'm not about to spend hours looking for the post in question, however, since I've just cancelled 2 books from BookSurge, as they are on Amazon.com with Lulu now, I've received their confirmation email (that the books have been retired in their system) with...

Sometimes one wonders ... I requested 3 titles be removed from my Amazon.com bibliography, BookSurge and CreateSpace as they're available from Lulu anyway, and people stopped buying the BS and CS versions as soon as the Lulu versions became available. So - Amazon writes back to me saying: quote Thank you for contacting us. We have reviewed your request to remove the three titles ...

Well, I can't say what Lulu's take on it is and since staff rarely speaks on the forums unless there's a near riot, I doubt if they'll say. It'll just pop up sometime. However, today CS announced their new expanded distro package that will get members with their Pro Plan and with standard trim size or acceptable book sizes into the larger distro channels such as online and offline stores,...

*BUMP* As I mentioned in my earlier post on this thread, self-publishing is another possibility. My second book, Provoking Thought , was published last week through Booksurge. (You can look over a book preview here if you're curious.) If publishers are not interested in your book, and you're willing to make the effort to promote the book yourself, this might be the way to go. ...

Amazon has just announced that it is merging BookSurge with Createspace in a bid to "improve services for its self-publishing and publishing customers". All the BookSurge titles will be transferred over to CS for management and in a few months the BookSurge brand will quietly disappear. I am not sure how this will affect fees or publishing platforms, but this means that BookSurge is ...
