I moderate an online book club at one of AOL's blogs if anyone is interested. There are two different "tracks," celebrity memoirs and romance novels. I moderate the romance novel version. It's fluff, but it's fun! This month's selection is J.R. Ward's Dark Lover . Please come by and comment if you've read the book. Even if you haven't, you can still comment. There's a free book up for grabs...

Thanks for the opportunity to tell everyone about my book. My name is Bernice McWilliams and I'm the author of a new page turner entitled A Quiet Storm , which is an engaging story of romance, suspense and adventure. Here is a 5 star review from Patricia Carter of Los Angles, CA: New Master Story Teller in Town, This is one of the most prolific reads I had the pleasure of experiencing ...

More on reading Simmons... The secret is the secret to championship basketball--winning championships, not just lots of wins. There is at least one Mav that I'd say is a candidate for being Adrian Dantley--a nice player, but another even "lesser" player might benefit the team more than him--is Josh Howard. Drew Gooden is likely on that list as well, if he still thought he as a big time ...

Our first book for our book club will be Agent Bishop: True Stories from an FBI Agent Moonlighting as a Mormon Bishop by Mike McPheters When do you think would be the best time to start discussions? (At least after the holidays, right?) How should we go about our book club? (Have reading check points and then discuss, or read entire book and then discuss, etc?) ...

We have been together as a club for almost 9 years. We have read most of the "typical" book club books but we are meeting to discuss next year. I prefer the books be not fluff, but still fun to read. No political books and no books where kids are abused/kidnapped/killed -they don't like them. I am taking all suggestions --let me have them!

So I just finished reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Anyone else read it? Indiana? It was truly the scariest thing I've ever read but I couldn't put it down - I was wake until 4am scaring myself silly! McCarthy does ...

First book choice from the Forum Book Club - post your discussions here! Synopsis: A small village on a lush tropical island in the South Pacific. Eighty-six days have passed since MatildaÂ’s last day of school as, quietly, war is encroaching from the other end of the island. When the villagersÂ’ safe, predictable lives come to a halt, BougainvilleÂ’s children are surprised to find the ...

Another vote for Water for Elephants. Also: Cry, The Beloved Country Three Cups of Tea - If you've already read that, Greg Mortenson has a new book that was released today. Stones into Schools I'm not sure if you'd consider them political. They are about Mortenson's humanitarian efforts.

Great points, clay. When is your book coming out? As soon as I get a publisher. It should should be quick as long as I ramble on about Vegas and gambling and name-drop every celebrity I've ever met.
