Went into gun shop today to consider Delta Elite 10mm or S&W gunsite .45. Handled both then saw the Dan Wesson Bobtail Commander. The gun was sweet to handle. Felt great. To buy this I'll need to trade in my .44 magnum and maybe even my fairly new Para GI Expert (which shoots great). I expect the Dan Wesson forum to be pro-DW, but I am looking for some pros and cons with this gun. Especially...

I have shot a ton of pistols and own a ton of pistols. BUT, I am getting ready to buy my first 1911 within the next day or two. DW Bobtail...has been tuned...throated on and on. WWB/Remington and most everything else jams...even when the gun is in battery. Will only feed MagTech and S&B but can't get it aboud here. Looking for Insepector Columbo to solve this mystery.

I was wondering if any members know of a good place to send it to get done. I've already checked with Ed Brown and a few others but they only make kits for commander and full size. I saw gunsmith did one himself on 1911auto.org/forum and it turned out nice, he did what he called a mini bobtail. So it will look somewhat like this pic.

Hope someone can help. I have a 07 KW T600 with 621000 miles and a 475 C-15 engine. Lately the truck starts shaking. It starts at the front end then travels into cab then smooths out. Then it does it all over again. Its worst when bobtail. Once I hit 60 mph the whole truck bounces. Then u go to 65 it stops. Has anyone else experienced this problem b4? I've set my sights on a Dan Wesson Bobtail. What's the story on the pre-CZ models 2000-2005? I saw a picture of a Bobtail with PT-C markings...Patriot? CZ apparently now offers only the Classic Commander. I held one at a gun show and loved that feel.
