We recently posted a negative review about block 5000 and issues with food and service. Since then we have had a direct response from the General Manager confirming they were overbooked and understaffed during our stay. He has aslo advised that they have put systems in place to ensure future guests will not be inconvenienced . In our review we did state the hotel had the potential to be...

We were in Dominician in Nov and stayed at the Blue Bay - now talking about next Nov's trip - wondering if anybody has or will be at both DR and Cuba Blue Bay to find the comparison. Right now Blue Bay DR wins hands down over others in Varadero & Mexico but would like to find someone who knows both.

Blue Bay Resorts is administered by Linkshare. I've been an affiliate marketer for 2 years, make money weekly, and have not had ANY problems receiving commissions from my other advertisers. Perhaps I've been lucky? Last February (it is now December) I earned an approximate $150 commission from Blue Bay Resorts. This has never been in dispute. I never recieved this commission. My Linkshare ...

Can anyone give me information about either hotel and pros/cons? It is overwhelming sorting through all of the AIs and ammenities. 2 adults traveling in February, and we are looking for overall value, service, good food/drinks, nice beach/pool near playa would be nice. Thanks!

We're shopping around for a last minute trip, leaving Dec. 18th... Have been to Melia Las Dunas twice, Melia Cayo Guillermo 3x, Sol Luna e Mares once... This time we're looking for a cheaper fare so those places are out of it.... Having trouble figuring where to go... Comments?

Hi There as escape winter said... you can get something to eat and drink 24/7 at Blue Bay In regards to Scooters... in my opinion...I WOULD NOT... even attempt to ride a scooter there.... they drive like complete maniacs and is really is NOT safe for you to be out on a scooter.... There are forums here where people has asked about hiring cars and ...

Not sure if you have the names correct, but the Blue Bay Grand Esmerelda and the Ocean Maya are neighboring properties. Neither has a great beach and both are about 5-6 miles north of Playa. What is cheaper in terms of actual cost? I have stayed at Ocean Maya and thought the value was very good. Food was okay- not gourmet and drinks were fixed how you asked for them. The entertainment ...

Only Thomsons goes to this hotel from the UK - so yes Portland /Thomsons. As to whether the prices will get cheaper - who knows!?! They could nearly have used their allocation of rooms meaning there might be no availability, the price could go up, the price could go down. Its very hard to judge.

I went to Blue Bay for my honeymoon. The food was really good especially the steakhouse. Buffet was good as well has everything that you want on it. Staff was great, very accommodating and really treated you wonderful. We had the basic garden view but really the only time we were in the room was to shower or sleep. The pools are great as well and the bars and drinks are plentiful. The...
