When you have used all your test strips, to get new test strips do you have to get a prescription from your doctor? Another question is with neuropathy in mainly my feet - I have severe numbness and pain and it keeps me from sleeping at night. I have been given Lyrica and Neurontin and the only thing they help with is electrical like pain, as far as the numbness, its always there.

If someone ate 10g of carbs and it raised BG 10 points one hour later, would 20g of carbs raise BG 20 points one hour later? (assume nothing else is consumed and activity and everything else is same in both scenarios)

I've been consuming large quantities of erythritol most mornings for several months as sweetener for my oatmeal. I've also been feeling very tired, but I've had an unrelated sleep problem for years. I'm sleeping much better lately, but I still feel extremely tired and am wondering if the erythritol could be the cause of that. Erythritol, as is the case with many sugar alcohols, generally ...

Learningmore! I feel like I could be writing your posts. We are the same height (almost), weight, BP, and other stats. This diagnosis came completely out of the blue for me, and I am struggling to understand how exactly I have PCOS with no family history, no cysts, acne, etc. It's a learning process I suppose.

Eddie - as always a thoughtful answer. For me the constant answer on food, exercise, and insulin seems to be "It depends". And looking over my diary no obvious correlative let alone causal relationship jumps out. I have become the compeat empiricist regarding the whole thing. I used to try.

Replying to: using blood glucose monitoring Hi! As for the neuropathy I use to have it really bad, the numbness in hands and feet. My doctor put me on a blood thinner and believe it or not it has done WONDERS! Ask your doc about it. I tried alot of other stuff but Plavix did the trick...... Linda
