Just curious to see how you all handle thyroid testing when just getting blood taken on a routine exam. Do you get blood work done and only a T4 test or do you get a blood work done as well as a full screen thyroid test? For me, I get a blood work up done and only a T4 test done as a routine yearly exam. If the T4 test is a little on the lower side I will go back to the vets for a full ...

I had ACL surgery eight days ago. I might have an infection, and doc is going to do some blood work. I was on for about one and one half years (dropping down to hrt levels at times). I was using about 600 cc's a week months before my surgery. Stopped altogether about 3 weeks prior. I wanted to start at low levels post surgery, so Monday injected 250mg's of Cyp and 200mg's of Prop. ...

( If you had your surgery at Humber, did you have to fast for the first month blood work check up? I went for my follow up with the dietician, but when I arrived they couldn't see - off sick and it was too late to notify me due to travel/distance time. Anyway, finally got the lab requisition they faxed to my family doctor and it doesn't say fasting on it. My GP's secretary wasn't sure, ...

Hi! My ped mentioned yesterday that Emma should have some bloodwork done at 9 months. I understand it's to check for anemia. I forgot to ask if it's because she's breastfed, but I was wondering if you peds have mentioned it too or if you did it with you other kids? I had never heard about this before. Emma's had bloodwork done before and the nurses say it's really hard to get blood from ...

i had the flu, went to the hospital and my BP was 140/80 on a machine, my doc was bugging out so he checked it manually. Came up to be 125/85. So now he wants to make sure everything is fine, so hes making me get some blood tests. He wants to check cholesterol, and i think liver and kidney values will be checked too, and probably everything else. Im in the middle of a cycle atm, 1g/week of test....

Hi, I have United Healthcare PPO. I was sent to an in-network lab for some blood work that got routed to an out-of-network pathologist, by the in-network lab. Now I'm being billed by that pathologist for $105 and my insurance says they will not pay because it is out-of-network. I was careful to choose the in-network lab but I did not know that my blood work will be sent to an ...

I need to take DS to the hospital for some blood work this afternoon and know that it's to test his bilirubin levels; we were at the doctors' office yesterday for something unrelated, and the doctor noticed that the whites of DS's eyes are yellow - only slightly, but he was treated for jaundice when he was born. But, there are some things on the requisition that I need help with, ...

It all worked out, I'm happy to say! I fed DS before we left so he was fine the whole time we were there. He even allowed me 40 minutes extra for a side trip on the way home. The lab was empty so we were in and out within 15 minutes and DS didn't even flinch when the blood was drawn. He was more upset that we woke him up. And parking was free because the ticket machine was broken We...

Newly going down this road, so I have a lot of questions. I was wondering about liver test results....do the results for AST, ALT and such climb over time or can they just shoot up. Can your test results say be 50 and then 6 months later be 150, or do you usually see a more gradual climb? TIA!

So Wednesday I went in for my workup with all the blood work. 10vials of blood and a pee test later I left feeling a lil sick Doctors office told me to call back on Thursday when the results came in, which I did. Glucose normal range for the test is 66-99, my results were 100. From 2007-till summer of this year I have had normal range results, typically in the 80's. This one test ...

ditto what jeanette said. when my dd was in ER and had to have emergency surgery, NO ONE in the ER could find a vein. they were finally going to do a vein in her groin when (by the grace of God) a pediatric nurse happened to walk through the ER, saw what was going on, and found a vein in about 3 seconds.

( I was told month 3 was fasting blood work. I can't believe the nuts there. I think it's just one.. it seems like the same one is missing EVERYTIME I go. When I went someone didn't show up that day either and they were almost an hour and a half late taking me in. No offence but you know by 9am if someone isn't coming in, 930 the latest. You can call someone before 11 and let them know. ...
