My parents live in rural Alabama, so letting kids out to play is an entirely different story there than it is here. Ada graduated to "big kid" this Thanksgiving and was allowed to go outside and play as long as she asked, stayed within the preset boundaries, and came when called. Admittedly, I was nervous the first time I let her go, and even said to my family "I can't believe I just sent my ...

My DD has nearly outgrown her toddler bed (we bought a convertible crib for older DS, then a twin bed for him when we found out little sister was on the way), and the last time I priced the adult bed conversion kit, it was $279 plus tax. DH balked at spending that much (even though a new twin cost about the same, without mattress, for something not all that sturdy). Yesterday I was Cyber ...

So I REALLY thought we wouldn't have to worry about this until she was closer to 2. But Saturday night HH climbed out of her crib and fell to the floor! She was fine just crying I think because it scared her. So we went out Sunday and got her a toddler bed. She was REALLY excited about it! Last night she slept really good! We put the gate up in her door just in case she got off her bed. ...

We skipped the whole toddler bed and went straight to a full sized bed. Part of McKenzie's Christmas I would like to buy her new bedding and bedroom decor. She currently has a blue comforter that matches all of the Classic Pooh decorations on the wall. When you upgraded from the baby stuff did you go with a theme your child liked (ex Dora, Hello Kitty, etc) or did you pick something that would ...

I'm really sad about this, but Holley was forced into the transition. I posted about her climbing last week, and nothing has worked this week to stop her, although a variety of *tricks* was tried, including an attempt at a crib tent and also turning the crib backwards so that the taller side was on the outside. She started climbing the taller end. Swear, she's going to make me crazy or crack...

Who is out of the crib?? Regular bed or toddler bed?? For those still in the crib, when are you planning to transition?? We're still in the crib since she isn't walking. I was hoping to move her in January after we got home from our month long trip, but I doubt she'll be ready by then unless she starts walking like today. So we're in the crib a while longer, but we ...

No rush for us. We'll keep Quinn in her crib for at least another year I would guess, unless she tries to climb out. we'll give her Owen's toddler bed and move him into a twin bed. They share a room, so I can only imagine the mayhem that will occur once they both have free reign. Owen is behaved for the most part, but Quinn is a little dare devil!
