SALLY FIELD in "Norma Rae" Jill Clayburgh in "Starting Over" Jane Fonda in "The China Syndrome" Marsha Mason in "Chapter Two" Bette Midler in "The Rose" Which one deserved the Oscar? I think Sally Field was charming, lovely, and powerful in Norma Rae, and completely deserved her Oscar.

Gabby Sidibe gained a lot of buzz recently and now she looks up in front. I don't realize that now how everything will come out as we get along with award shows passing one by one. FYC: Levitt-Streep-Tucci-Blunt

1. Meryl Streep, Julie & Julia 2. Marion Cotillard, Nine 3. Ellen Page, Whip It 4. Zooey Deschanel, 500 Days of Summer 5. Maya Rudolph, Away We Go I hope Meryl wins for Julie & Julia and is not nominated for It's Complicated. If she has 2 nominations it could limit her chances of winning because the votes will get split.

aka the Helen-Mirren-Award. To be honest, the first time I saw "The Queen" I was rather underwhelmed just because no performance can live up to THAT kind of hype and awards grabbing. I mean, I wouldn't have been surprised if she had received a Nobel Prize at some point for her performance. Still, now that's all said and done, Helen Mirren was wonderful and deserved her Oscar even though this ...

Well, no, but they praise her quite a bit... Stewart is the heart and soul of the film, and not only because her Bella is surrounded by characters who literally have neither one nor the other. She gives both weight and depth to dialogue ('You're just warm...you're like your own sun') that would sound like typical chick-lit blather in the mouth of a less engaging actress, and she makes ...

Pardon me if there is a thread out there already. But, I was wondering who you all think is the best actor/actress who has never won an Oscar for Best Performance by an Actor/Actress in a Leading/Supporting Role. They can be from past times or current actors who have not yet won but are well deserving. Mine: Matt Damon Natalie Portman Mine are biased cause they ...
