Today doing the benchpress at home, I realized that I am leaning more on my right arm to push the bar up. I try to use my left arm more, but I still feel like I'm using right. Any reason for this? Thank you,

As topic says. I'm a beginner with weight lifting and currently bench without a spotter. Right now I do 3 sets of 5 reps. I've had times where my muscles have failed me, so I rely on the lowest rack (the benchpress benches at 24 hour fitness have 2 racks, the normal one and one much lower). with that being said, should i just switch to Dumb-bell benchpress and do 3x5?

just curious if there's a formula. i still do lots of push ups - 30 at a time is easy to me but i'm thinking of getting a bench & working out w/weight again now that both my kids are in school. wondering if i should bother w/bench presses or just do hundreds of push ups? other than getting bigger, what are the physical benefits of benches w/high resistance over dozens of push ups?

hi, I've always wondered about the "work on your weakpoints" thing. how do you know what those are? take benchpress for example: sure if you miss a bench at the very top or the very bottom it seems to be easy to assess. what if you miss somewhere in between though? could anyone of you more experienced guys possibly tell me what the weak link is by looking at my stats of various ...

My small, in the middle of nowhere college has an equally crappy gym. There are no barbell/benchpress bars. There is a single EZ curl bar that I use for wide-grip deadlifts, but I feel it screws up my form because there is less gripping and the bar "rolls" when I lift due to the construction of the bar. Any thoughts or tips?

I should rephrase, as I see the sh!tstorm brewing. HE shouldn't be doing board presses, I agree with that. I just wanted to point out that they can "help" you, even if you don't bench 4x's your body weight. I think sometimes there are things that could help us that are dismissed due to the fact that we are not all power lifters. That's all I was trying to say. Hope that clears the air. OP...
