I have an old Frankengun (Colt slide and Essex frame from the 60's I believe) I want to change the GS on it currently has a GI style safety and I would like to fit a beavertail GS.....actually doing a complete rebuild on it. My question is which GS style can I fit best and have NO GAP. Options are the "Wilson" radius, .250 radius or .220 radius, I know I will have to profile the tangs ...

Just got a new S6. It looks to me that the beavertail was screwed into the trigger frame and has loctite on it. I tried unscrewing it by hand, but had no luck. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it without using a pair of pliers to grip the rod and putting teeth marks in it? Thanks.

I have a Remington Rand 1911 and need to know what Beavertail grip safety is compatible. Obviously I'd like to find one that requires no modification of the gun. This gun has had some parts replaced and is a "shooter" but I am hoping that this will be a drop in part. If anyone can tell me a decent grip safety to get I'd really appreciate it. If needed, I can post the year of ...

Is there a particular reason that Colt just doesn't care for beavertail grip safety? It seems that they all have the basic tang, but isn't nothing fancy. I think a big reason that other 1911 makers have cut into Colt market is the extra touches they make on the basic Colt model.

Ok, so I know that most find them unnessary but I actually like the looks of having the beavertail on my autococker. However, for some reason the screw hole has become stripped and I can no longer get the beavertail to stay on. I tried using a larger screw but I'm afraid I made the issue even worse. Is there any other way to attach it, I don't think any sort of glue will hold up and I'm ...

Hey guys, Sorry for such a newb question, (actually this is sort of a two part question) and i'm sure this sounds stupid, but does a beavertail grip safety make a 1911 more accurate? I don't own a 1911, so i really can't comment either way. But i hear alot that a beavertail safety will allow you to grip the gun higher, is more comforitable, and allows for better muzzle control. The ...

So I found a killer deal on a 20ft gooseneck(1500$) and the thing looks like new. The issue, it does not have a beavertail on the back. My question is I'm a decent welder, is this something I could just add, any suggestion on the way to go about it, basically I want the advantage you have with being able to have less ramp angle. also suggestions on the best place to buy a gooseneck hitch ...

I'm looking for a 1911 for CCW, home defense and weekly CCW matches (not too competitive close range bullseye in low light followed by going for chicken wings with the guys). I was thinking of going with a Colt 70 series due to history, aesthetics, and because I own some other Colt products. I've shot a few hundred rounds through 1911s with beavertails, but I haven't had the opportunity to ...

Quote: I know that the beavertail provides a slightly higher and more comfortable grip, but is the standard safety that much of a hinderance? Strange, I find I can get a higher grip with the standard GI grip safety, versus the beavertail. I get very mild hammer bite from my standard GI-style 1911. Just 2 little light red ...

I would like to perform a grip safety mod on my stock 1991 A1 frame. Question - Will this this affect the value of a stock Colt? Am I just being overly paranoid or what? Thanks.

Hello All, I am looking for a non-cast/MIM, steel grip safety for my blued 1911 Colt Series 70 Repro (just had the beautiful Royal Blue finish applied to it by Colt). I just want a standard 1911A1 grip safety, no beavertail or anything fancy, just a standard proflie. Do you know if anyone makes these out of machined steel today? Thanks, Figsy.

I'm looking for either the equinox black grips or the grey wood blackwater grips for a 226, let me know what you have. If any one is interested in a trade, I have the rosewood beavertail grips new from the 226 elite.

Sorry for the basic question, I tried searching but couldn't find an answer. I have a 226 elite, and was looking at the black wood equinox grip, I know that the equinox grip does not have a beavertail shape, but was curious if it will fit though. Thanks.

Considering buying the mud motor that was for sale in the classifieds. I can not see the motor in person but have pictures of the motor. 6.5 hp beavertail kohler electric start for 900 i would have to ship the motor to my house about 200. From the pictures it looks to be in decent shape but the prop nuts show some surface rust and the unit shows some signs of wear. My question is what kinds of ...
