Tonight's supper, on a cloudy, cool, rainy day, was a rich black bean soup. It was enjoyed with a 2005 Tablas Creek Counoise - screw-cap closure; medium ruby in color; bright nose & flavors of spicy mixed berries; balanced mid-palate with good acidity, bright fruit, a bit of residual tannin initially; and a medium berry fruit finish. The tannin quickly disappeared with spoonfuls of the soup....

Hello all does anyone have a black bean soup recipe like Panera's soup ???? HAve not had luck finding one that is as tasty as theirs...closest Paneras to us is over an hours' drive... all help appreciated thanks

Ack. That's frustrating. It's mixed beans/barley, lots of veggies, chicken stock and chicken sausage (4 links for the whole batch). But when I work it out, it comes to 8 points. It seems high for what's in it. (sigh)

my recipe is similar, but just a tad different: 1 can refried beans 1 can black beans 1 6 oz can chicken drained 1 can ro-tel tomatoes 1 can chicken broth 1 can corn, drained mix all together and heat through, top with ff sour cream and eat with baked tortilla chips
