Is there a program out there that will do a battery test to determine its health and run a timer to exactly calculate how long the battery lasts on idle and on full use?

My Sekonic Dual Spot Meter will no longer cycle out of ?battery check? mode and boot up. In the past it has had intermittent bouts of doing this, but it would always mange to come to life after a minute or two. No longer. My highly experienced local camera repair technician has had no luck. He called Sekonic for help and was informed that for a modest $300+ that they could ?possibly? remedy the ...

So Friday it rains all afternoon and when my daughter gets out of work her 2007 Buick Lacross has a dead battery. Someone helps her get it started and she goes to AZ for a free battery test. They tell her that the bat is on the way out and she should get a new one ASAP. Luckily she has no money so the next day I take her car to Advance Auto for a different free battery check. AA tells me that the...

Hi there fellow electrolites, Just received my 'excellent' condition yashica electro 35 GSN which (of course)has a battery check button that is stuck and cannot be pressed. Managed to modify the PX28L battery I bought with some foam tape and pen spring and lo and behold, the slow and over lights work. However, I can't use the battery check button at all. Everything else seems to...

If you want longer battery life, you need to keep the fan's speed as low --as close to the idle of 1800 rpm as possible. Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities. Make sure "All processes" are showing. Sort by CPU. See anything using high CPU? You can get the iStat Pro widget to monitor your computer's temperatures and fanspeeds. ~Lyssa...

Bad RAM or a virus/malware of some sort can also be the cause. Might want to run a memory test on your RAM overnight and do a spyware and/or anti-virus scan. As previously mentioned, BIOS time and the battery on the motherboard are good things to check as well.

Better yet, replace it with a non-vented, non-spillable AGM type battery. No leaks, no water loss, no problems. Odyssey brand is well regarded, and sold by the GH host store .

If you got a new battery and power supply (specific to your make and model of your laptop) and the problem still exists then I would say its got something to do with the laptop itself. If its still under warranty then speak with hp/compaq about it. If its out of warranty then you have 2 choices, 1. take it into a local pc repair shop. send it into hp for repairs or 2. buy another laptop....

Did you have the 2.0 upgrade performed on your car? If not, you may be eligible for a free upgraded battery. The transmission upgrade is also worth the trip. I think it would be covered even if you're out of warranty, but check with your dealer and good luck! If you're interested in tracking and sharing your fuel mileage, we can always use a few more smart owners on Fuelly.com .

MacBook/MacBook Pro batteries aren't exactly known for lasting a long time. Check out the reviews for replacement batteries at the online Apple store - there are quite a few people who've had their batteries die within a year. Is there a X on the battery icon? How many charge cycles is on the battery? You could try resetting the PMU.
