I stumbled across this web page from a guy that made a tire cleaner from a toothbrush head. The unique part was the mounting. His bandsaw is the same as mine, a Grizzly 555 (looking at the photos anyway) so I am going to try this. I am sharing this with the group in case the idea can work in your case. http://lumberjocks.com/projects/19465 His concerns about the Rocker tire ...

Vintage Craftsman Bandsaw I got this from an estate sale a few years ago. I need to make some room for other stuff. Because of the size, this would need to be picked up. I am located NW of Chicago, in McHenry, IL. Craftsman Band Saw: Great classic tool. Motor run, saw works great, includes some blades, etc in the bottom ...

What's a good all-purpose blade for my 14" bandsaw? I use it for everything from chopping up scraps for the burn pile to cutting slight curves to light re-sawing. I've got a 3/8" 4-tooth blade on there currently. Anybody got a better recommendation? I just HATE changing blades!! Jason

Saw an old bandsaw on CL and went to check it out yesterday. There were no identifying markings (except to say "Ohio" on the gear box). The guy wanted $200 for it and, since it was definitely larger/heavier that my CM 4 x 6, decided to pay the amount and brought it home. The machine is still in my truck because I can't unload it myself, and my friend will come this afternoon to help do that. ...

I just bought this from Swag & have not even opened the package, I ended up going with a stand alone bandsaw so I have no use for this. It includes the new modular mounting system & foot switch. I want $75 plus shipping, I will absorb paypal fees. http://www.swagoffroad.com/Porta_ban...t_Product.h tml

This is an large Doall bandsaw that we have been using cutting steel and aluminum up to 6.75" round. Saw works good (just put new belts on it from OEM!). This saw has hydraulic up and down feed and automatic level style speed (nice feature!). I think its a C916 or 917. It uses 3 phase power and we have never bogged it down! Has good working coolant pump and a coolant spray hose that comes with it...

I purchased the recommended blade "Our 3/16" x 10rk is very popular for bandsaw boxes" from Timberwolf I have a question, I was halfway thru my box and notice that the blade will no longer cut the way it did the first half. I was cutting a 4 inch thick box with four drawers. The box would measure 12inched tall and 6 inches wide. I was using Cherry wood. It got to the point were I cut no ...

My BS1400 tracks offset. The blade rides in the front half of the upper wheel and the rear half of the lower wheel. I just put new urethane tires on too.

Hi first time poster long time lurker here. I recently got a bid on a custom armoire. in the bid the cleint was to provide the wood and they assured me that it would all be 4/4. well long story short about 10% of the lumber was 4/4 the rest was between 6 and 10/4 so i had a small resawing problem on my hands. so after much searching and hulla ballew i did some reworking of the lowly bs14002. ...

smd... a further question about the pulleys. when u stated they are standard, did u mean they werre the pulleys that originally came with the band saw, or that they were a "standard" type pulley that's available through many sources? thanks.

Not exactly a poster boy for safety though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXW55S4X9zo (Seen on Wreck.Metalheads) I'd hate to pay that company's insurance payments. I was cringing all the way through that, waiting for the thumb to fall off with the cut wood... -- STOP LIVING LIKE VEAL -----------------------

If you found a used PC1410 for $160 that needed a blade, would you pull the trigger? I had talked to the guy before and he wanted $190 for it but he called back and lowered the price. Since then, I found a used Wilton bandsaw(model 3z990) for $75 that I bought. I'd still love to have the chop saw but don't have a dire need for it. Would you say this is a pretty good deal? I don't want to ever ...

I tried tensioning the Timberwolf blade just now and it did not help. I even went as far as tightening it as much as it would tighten. I will not be trying the 6th teeth blade either because I can honestly not spend money like that. I guess I will just continue to do my boxes with the scrollsaw. I am very upset that the blade were not what I thought they would be. Lesson learned.
