I will be fueling up at the Flying J a few miles north of town, but don't know if there is any good parking there, and there are no close by Wal-marts that are open 24 hours. I generally stay at the Bakersfield RV Resort on Wibble Lane, just south of White Lane. They are a bit proud of their place, but they do have a great restaurant on site and it's fairly close to where my Sister lives. Mr. Spiker

Wherever you end up for your one year to get residency, go to a California community college, go one extra year, and do the UC or CS certified plan. You get your lower division done, and it guarantees you a UC or CS school (albeit it might not be the most popular one!). At least this was true 10 years ago... I don't know about now...
