Back Pain - Topic profile

Hello everyone and anyone, I am so in need of someone to talk to that I don't know where to turn.  I have posted messages and no body answers me.  My pain is so bad, the meds aren't helping. I just had a new MRI, which showed the same things I already knew, osteoarthritis, ruptued discs, significant bulge, that one is new.  I can hardly stand up straight, my legs swell and hurt like hell.  ...

This is not a request for medical advice. I have a good friend who has severe back pains. She had an accident horse riding when ~13, and roughly ten years on nothings been fixed. She's had scans, medication, etc. It's flared up recently and I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything thats good for backs, as I've read on here about people with chronic back pain.

From time to time if I'm going heavy and I barely finish the last rep, I'll feel a weird pull in my lower back area that lingers for almost a minute. Why would this occur in that spot? Has this ever happened to anyone? I bench with an arched back btw. Thanks

Dave, Good conversation. I think you are not seeing the forest for the trees. You asked about speed of gait and lower back pain. Patients with lower back pain do walk VERY slow! Hi PaLady, I broke my ribs in a car accident yearssssss ago and this is why I think I have broken ribs again. I had an ex ray on Friday and doctor was going to call me with the results that afternoon, but I must of gotten lost in the shuffle. TY for your reply. Ice and Motrin and then see the doctor on Monday. A muscle relaxer will help (at night). Urgent Care would probably give you Vicodin and maybe a Toradol injection (that is what they would do in the clinic where I worked). I guess if you have good insurance you could go to ER...but some insurances wouldn't pay for that...plus like the pp said...you will probably be sitting for hours....

Replying to: Severe Back Pain Yikes! That is awful. I'm sorry to hear that. I have yet to find a good place to get a bra. I am always on the search. I will let you know when I find a place that is good and not so expensive.
