I have had BT total broadband for two years. Every month it starts out at 2 mb per second and then drops to about 250k. Short of spending another hour on the phone to India what else can I do? All the filters are correct and there are no line issues known. Here is my test from 2 minutes ago: Results Image not loaded Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -...

I've currently got BT Option 3 broadband @ £22/month (+£11 line rental). I see that Sky are now offering unlimited broadband for £10/month (+£10 line rental). In peoples experience on here are these broadly equivalent? Would I really save £13/month with the same level of service etc.? Does anyone know of any better deals?

I have a wireless network. I bought my wife a new PC and tried to connect it to the network. The PC sees the network OK as the browsers work and she can receive emails at the mail box I set up for her. What we can't do is to send mails outward from her PC. The system asked for the password to the SMTP outgoing server. I know the password, but the system won't accept it. So far as I can see ...

Friend of mine's BT Voyager router has died so i offered her my older sky router. I presumed it would be easy enough to setup but nope! Flashed the router as well - got into http://192.168.0.1 was able to modify stuff so the router seems to be working (connection success) and LAN connection etc. (i loaded 1.03 firmware onto it) BUT no internet. No idea why. The line works. Shes on ...

My girlfriend's family have just taken out BT Total Broadband. BT reckon she should be getting 7mb on her line which is relatively close the the exchange, however the speed is 0.48! Yes you read that correctly, not quite 512k broadband! I think there's a problem here. We've tried plugging into the master phone socket, and indeed other sockets; connected wired, wirelessly. ...

I notice that my speed in the evening had been dropped to 1Mbits (its normally 6 MBits) I have BT Broadband option 3. I only use my Platstation 3 on this. What I found out today is BT put a speed restriction on my line between 5pm and 10pm weekdays now due to heavy usage in october. Just note that option3 actually says unlimited but means 100G..... Now HD Movies downloads are here ...

I've just left Virgin after months of the service going unbelievably downhill. However, I know I'm not going to get any more than 5mb where I am through an ADSL line, but this is still better than I got with Virgin during peak times on my so called 10mb connection anyway. I've managed to get a free connection for a new line with BT and am considering the broadband too. I'll be paying a ...

BT bills me for line rental and broadband separately and then subtracts a discount for having broadband and line rental together. However on the latest bill i noticed this discount was missing. I didn't receive any literature stating the billing has changed - does anyone know if it has? I assume this is just an oversight on the part of BT. I thought I'd post it here to highlight it as I only ...

Hello all, it has come to my attention that BT are about to launch a promotion in the next few days offering thier broadband option 1 package for the entire contract term (12 months) for around £7.99 per month to get this you have to quote a discount / promo code - this should be printed on a flyer which only 'select' households will receive. I would very much appreciate this special ...

I got the "BT free connection offer" and was thinking of going for O2's broadband because I already have an O2 sim so it would have been the cheapest unlimited broadband by far. However it appears they haven't "unbundled" my exchange yet, so I'm stuck looking for other providers. I've been told that the O2 Access isn't a good deal. My postcode is IV4 7BS Is there anything better than ...

You will now need the proper username (doesn't check password) for BT Broadband so xxxxxxxxx@btbroadband.com - I think its come back into force again with the new traffic management system - for awhile you could get away without a username or password.

Hi Jon, No worries, happy to help. There is not really any curve the stabilisation period follows so speed wont always start to climb the closer we get to completion. Sure send me the details now and I'll mark my diary to check the connection stats on the date stabilisation should be complete. If there is a problem I'll drop you an email to back to let you know what ...
