I did not upgrade but did a custom install for Windows 7 Home Basic. But after that I am facing a Black Screen of Death (BSOD) when I had finished installing Windows and forced the Shut Down by holding down the Power button. Why is this ...

Now a month after I upgraded to windows 7, the same BSOD returns, seemingly randomly. I am now skeptical if it could be a failing battery, which is not providing power flow, because sometimes when I restart after failure the power icon ...

If I navigate down to here Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization\Window Color and Appearance Then click on Advanced Appearance Settings. The first time it works. But if I click the link again I get a BSOD everytime. It's not that big of a deal since I never really had to use this option. Was wondering if anyone else got this problem. Last time this happened was after I reapplied thermalsink to my GPU and CPU. I had to ...

Installation of patch for KB971486 via Windows update resulted in BSOD (0x0000007E) during boot in both normal mode and last known good configuration. Booting in safe mode also was not possible as the system hung with an empty pale blue background screen. The only possible resolution was booting from CD to access the recover console and run 'batch spuninst.txt' for the ...
