Exchange 2003/2007, 1000+ users, spread across european mail servers. BES machine are Virtual on VMWare. It has been proposed that we set up BES v5 as follows: 2 Standalone BES servers, each with a copy of SQL 2008 installed. Then use SQL-mirroring and BES-HA to take care of the rest. ie. BES-A with all 1000 users on it, running all the BB services and using a Config DB located on BES-A...

I have a 9530 set up on BES through my employer. The BES account is the only email account on the device. While the device was running OS 4.7, all of my work emails, SMS messages, voicemail indicators, etc. came into my main "Messages" folder. It was the only inbox folder on the device. Today, I upgraded to 5.0. After upgrading, IT activated the enterprise account. This added a new inbox ...

So after 6 years of relying solely on my corporate email account with Exchange/BES i'm moving on. Which of the big free email providers work best with a non BES'd Blackberry? I'm starting over so it doesn't really matter which one, hotmail, gmail, etc... Hopefully I can still get wireless calendar and contact syncing. What do you think? Thanks, Steve

Hi guys I have previously installed the monitoring component onto my Primary and Standby BES servers, but I am reading that it should definitely be on a remote server. This is a bummer but if it is best practise then I shall do so. Eventually I will have over 500 users on the BES so if performance could be impacted best not to take a chance. However, can anyone advise on how I should ...

I had my phone setup with BIS for the past few months and just activated it with a BES server this morning. I'd like to have my default calendar (when creating new items) on the phone be my personal email account calendar. However, it is set as the Desktop calendar (the BES calendar). I went into the Default Services option, and the proper calendar was set by default there, yet, when creating ...

Is it me or does having BES activated slow down my 9630 than if BES was not activated? The device would take just a little over 4 minutes to reboot, but since getting my work e-mail onto my device with Enterprise Activation my device feels a little more sluggish and now takes over 9 minutes to reboot! WTF?

Does Telus set up a BES automatically? I am very new to this but I think there is one set up on my BB. On my set up screen for email it says my email is already set up for enterprise use.

Hello everyone, I have a BB Storm 9530 v 4.7.0.148. After my BES was nice enought to not recognize my password after 6 attempts (It was the correct password - I notice it often does not recognize it) it was kind enough to completly wipe my phone. I got it re-installed yesterday - and everything seems fine except that when looking at SMS messages - there was not "to' "from" or prior ...

After seeing the recent post on Crackberry about SP1 for BES 5.0, I downloaded and installed the service pack. Just now I got an email from RIM stating there's a problem with the version I downloaded. I just thought I'd share the email with everyone just in case. Quote: Our records indicate that you downloaded BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 5.0.1 Bundle 72. An issue has been...

I'm looking for an official document from RIM on how to do this. Everything I find is for 4.1. I realize that the directions for this are in the help section of the BES, but I'm looking for a web page or PDF that explains this. Something like page 14 and on in this PDF: docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/deliverables/2733/Dep loying_Java_Applications.pdf Thanks a lot.
