Avira has been quite for way to long. Their pro-active beta has been going on for a very long time. Part of me just thinks way to much time has past for them for some reason. Avira has been fairly pro-active about setting the bar for vendors for the future. That time has come again as far as I am concerned. There has to be something planned. Stefan?

I'm having the oddest issue with Host Checker lately. User with Avira Free 9.x have been failing Host Checker even though their client softare is being kept up to date. I got the first complaints about 2 weeks ago. I installed ESAP 1.5.5 and that fixed it for about a day. Now those users are failing HC again and we have no idea why. Hi, I've been getting avira complaints about the host file and need to replace it. I can't understand why as no changes were made in months, and nothing looks suspicious. Numerous users have complained of false positives there and were simply asked to send files to avira labs, with no general solution yet. Grrr! Does it never end? Updated Avira on my XP box yesterday and now it thinks my Host file has an infection but it is just an entry added by Spybot to block a malware site with the Trojan drive by download and not actually opening up my PC to it.
