He's got some real nice high tech avionics with those glass screens to follow and he might be able to pop up above the clouds if he has O2 with him above 10,000 feet. He will just have to stop for potty breaks and maybe one fuel stop.

The same is true when planning an avionics upgrade (or initial installation for that matter, but that is a slightly larger topic), so I thought I’d share a little of the planning I am doing for a minor set of panel changes I have coming up. I estimate that the actual ...

I bought a lot of avionics from a King Air 200 that was upgraded to a Garmin / Avidyne / Sandel. All was working when removed and I tested in our aircraft. I am keeping one of each of the duplicates, selling the rest. 1 King HSI Pictoral Nav - KPI553 ($950?) 1 Collins radar indicator - IN2021A - ($950?) 2 Collins RMI 332-10C ($250 each?) (1 sold) 2 King KTR905 Comm receiver boxes - $250 each (...

This should be a good business for Rockwell Collins. Fits well with avionics and other lines. Only major competitors I can see (off the top of my head) are CAE (Canada) and Thales (Europe) and maybe a few smaller manufacturers: http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2009/11/30/33 5530/core-...
Oddly enough... pretty much everything has changed from earlier today... now... rather than flying to Austin to pick it up... I will be going to Atlanta... They won't be able to complete the software upgrade for the avionics in Austin by Friday... so they are going to fly it over to Atlanta... and I will pick it up there... Already hooking up with Don ... so we can hang out, have a beer and ...

Quote from: Robo-Nerd on Today at 03:45 AM Sorry for the bad "netiquette" of replying to my own post, but my first post was too long, so I decided to split it into two. Here is what could have been proposed instead of the Constellation program: 1. Build at least one more Space Shuttle (and two would have been better) to replace Columbia, with as many design updates based on actual flight ...

I think delinking airframe developments of Thunder from its avionics was a good decision after all. Now, PAF can choose any avavilable and affordable radar she wants to.
Quoting KC135TopBoom ( Reply 70 ): 1. the original Airbus designation for the airplane that became the A-330 was the A-300-B9 (the A-340 was originally called the A-300-B11). Airbus marketing convinced management to change the name to a new designation to make it seem like it is a totally new design, it was not. That is not right. The extended A300 designs including the ...
