Last night I scanned my hdd using AVAST and it listed 1437 lines that it couldn't scan for the following reason: "Archive is password protected." All of the files were on the C: drive with none of the other partitions showing a problem. Possible action items for the identified files include the following: delete; move; CHEST ; and scan. Can anyone tell me (1) are these files a problem and (...

I don't know if the people in my community hits everything that pops up, but, since MSE and Malwarebytes find nothing- I'm safe? :-o Quote from online community: It's got to be in the banner ads. That's the only time that Avast caught anything at all. All of those banner ads are flash-based...there could be anything inside them.

Does anyone know is the Microsoft Security Essentials is any better than Avast or AVG for anti-virus and spyware? I'm running Win 7 and don't know if the Microsoft version is as good (or better) than the other two. I've always used AVG and have loved it. I'm trying out Avast from the recommendation of MaxPC but I also read in MaxPC that the Microsoft version is good too. Any reommendations?...
