Just bought a 2009 fx4 screw. At lower speed, when unloaded it shifts hard and every once in a while it will shift without needed to. I test drove 3 others before purchasing this one. All of them acted the same way. With a load, it shifts fine. Now that I'm reading around this site I see some tranny problems. is what I'm experiencing normal?...

IN SINGAPORE, those who wish to drive cars can apply for a Class 3 (manual transmission) or a Class 3A (automatic transmission) licence. This has been implemented following public feedback since Jan 3, 2005, when the Traffic Police Department approved the automatic transmission licence in Singapore. However, this is limited to cars and not extended to motorcycles. Full Story

What type of auto transmission fluid does the Focus use (LS model)? Looking at the service book it only states the capacity and not the product/type. EDIT: Just noticed Ford got the spelling wrong for "Capacity"

My transmission was operating and shifting fine prior to this morning when it would not engage any gears (either forward or reverse). Tranny oil level is good. The oil smells and looks normal. This car has 185,000 miles on it. Any ideas whats causing this problem?

I'm looking to push around 3-400 hp. I was looking at the C4, saw a shop in SD advertising one with a shifter kit for $499 and wondering if upgrading the gears on it would be necessary. I wouldn't mind a 4 or 5 speeder but sometimes I feel like having something grabbing good but where I can just lay back and cruise.

Hi, I've been all over the forums looking at various items related to changing transmission fluids. I just want to confirm the transmission on my car without having to jack up the car. My car is a 2003 e46 The plate on the door says 06/03 (June, 2003) The last part of the VIN reads KP81689 The sticker on the underside of the pan is green, but I can't read the markings (i...

I have engine flaring when auto goes from 1st to 2nd and 3rd gears on my 2003 BA Fairmont. I have just bought the car recently and had transmission serviced where mechanic found some filings in auto pan. The car has done 137000 klm's. What is the best solution for this problem?

I have tallied the pro's and con's for this idea and decided to ditch it. I will just trade it as is for another Ford. I think the F150 is going to be in my driveway soon. If anyone else wants to pursue this dream of mine I will send everything I have. It will be very costly. A new coolant system, oil pan, etc... flip the spindles to the opposite sides to move the steering rack to the front, cut ...

Mine also shifts the way you describe, but I really babied it the first 500 miles, now I'm a little over 1000 and driving more agressive and it does seem like the tranny is slowly adapting to it. On another note, does anyone's tranny shutter when it first is put into drive, mine just does it sometimes, not all the time.
