hi, I am having DELL Inspiron 1525 and have intalled sigmatel audio device driver. My problem is with the microphone(array),i am not able to hear my sound when i use and save through windows sound recorder.Also when i am using skype the other party cant hear my voice. I have installed driver so many times,but still not able to rectify the problem....... what should i do...

Is it possible to use a Softphone with AMR-WB codec with Asterisk? I want to set up a peer to peer audio call using the AMR-WB codec that is not supported by Asterisk. Is it possible to configure Asterisk to let the INVITE (wit AMR_WB) pass, setting up a peer to peer call (both the clients support the codec.) Thank you

Hello. my system is DIMENSION 9200/XPS 410 i've just installed windows xp sp3 and noticed that there's no sound. i went to the device manager and saw this: uninstalled the driver, rebooted the pc. on startup a "found new hardware wizard" popped up and i used recommendet automatic settings for it to find the required driver. it did, the installation went on, saw a dos screen ...

There are so many audio codecs out there. Which one is the most popular and the best. for example to compare on this subject: my opinion for video would be "Divx" because of the extreme compression ratio as well as hardly as loss of video quality. I would be interested in converting .mp3's into that similar format. for example maybe shedding down an average mp3 size of 4MB into 1-2MB ...

Yes, that's the same solution that was in the thread I linked you to. The driver that Chris B named "R196492" is the same as the 6.10.0.6047. We are used to using the "R" names on this board, but Dell has lately started to use the 8 digit numbering system and it causes some confusion when identifying drivers.
