Took a lovely photo of a "Little Gem" magnolia just before it gets dark with the EasyShare V1073 : http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/7227/1000083.jpg Used the P mode with macro on.

I have had this shot as a RAW file for quite some time, but couldn't get it 'right' in PP. Then I got a Photoshop Elements guidebook for Xmas present and tried again - what do you think? I basically adjusted levels, colours/tones and contrast using some techniques described in the book. Did I go too far? And what about the composition in general?...

You may have seen this before, but I thought it was pretty neat. Click on the link below. Then, place your cursor at the top of the photo. You will notice it is 6:10 PM. Bring the mouse down slowly over the photo without pressing the button on the mouse. Do not right or left click. Night time appears, the lights come on, and at 7:40 PM. Hong Kong at dusk

Here are a couple from this freezing afternoon: Our housing estate has some excellent mature trees dating back 50 or more years. The tallest ones must be seventy feet high. Just the place to catch some last rays. And the snow is melting a bit. Though I fear it will freeze again tonight... Its that old Tamron 200 f3.5 again.. Pete

i am for the crop of the lower part - little interest there to my eye - i would crop the bottom and the right side to put the river on the horizon in the center - then my eye stops jumpiing around looking for a focal point

Thank you sir for the comments. The picture was really underexposed so I attempted to increase the colors in the picture. I think I overdid it too. As for the composition, my subjects are the lamp posts but as you said, it may have been underemphasized. Thank you for the comments sir, really appreciate it. I will continue to improve my shots.

Source: My Photo I took this earlier in the week and it captures the peculiar low white autumnal light we get this time of year. For the uninitiated, Vancouver is located on Canada's West Coast in a temperate coastal rainforest climate. Because of this it is lush and green throughout the year and it rains or is overcast for a large portion of the winter months. As we move into this "...

Did you all know, that during dusk, there is a point of time when the sun is hitting the ICC Sensor directly. If you are using ICC at that time, it will fail. It is hard to recreate, but it has happened to me a few times.
