Hi I am thinking of booking a last minute ski holiday to arinsal next week as the prices are very good at the moment, just wondering what the snow conditions are like - we are only beginners and will do the beginner ski lesson package with first choice, anyone any experience of that? Probably staying half board in the St Gothard hotel, I believe its a 15 min walk or a ski bus ride which...

If you havn't booked, I really do recommend Soldeu for a first ski holiday, as the gondola is in the high street near most of the hotels, so no bus to catch. Ski school meets at the top of the gondola, on a large open plateau. Very friendly resort, and popular with British and Irish. I have written a few reviews of hotels there, and about the resort, if you look at my profile....

Look at this link www.ski-europe.com/resorts/arcalis.html If you have not already booked, at the risk of being repetitive, I really do recommend Soldeu , especially for mixed ability groups. The Grand Valira area pass covers 5 resorts, so plenty of skiing terrain for a week or longer. As Soldeu is in the centre, it has good access to Pas De La Casa and Grau ...

Hi, I have been to Arinsal twice before, but always towards the end of March when it has been quite warm, and we have been able to ski with a small top under our jackets, and have enjoyed the sunshine and none snowy conditions! I know that might sound quite strange for someone who wants to go ski-ing, but I have read some of the reports of the massive snowfall on the 11th ...

Hi, sorry I’m a bit late replying. If it helps we were in Andorra at the end of Jan and beginning of feb this year. As we arrived there was a massive dump and by the next day some of the slopes were waist deep in snow. A few of the pistes closed on the first day but by the second day all were open and the snow was nicely bashed. I wouldn’t worry about there being too much ...

heard the conditions have not been great, Arinsal in Andorra is having rain unless you get right to the top of the resort.. Was going over Xmas but held back to wait for better snow to come... hopefully. Soldeu in Andorra is the best resort, or Tigne in France, Livigno in Italy, stay out of Serbia, all moody tossers, looking at possibly doing Bulgaria as it seems the last cheap resort left ...
...I've skiied most of the cheap and cheerful places Soldeu, Arinsal, Sauze D'Oulx, Livigno, Soll. If it has the snow Sauze D'Oulx is brilliant especially with the connections to Sestriere and San Sicario - night life is on a par with Soldeu. And the transfer is only 1 hour. I liked this place...but I have had friends go there and have to ski on grass!!!!!!!! Soll: A little low down ...
