Anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with this set-up...Im looking to add an external DAC to my AppleTV and the DAC Magic certainly fits the price range and the reviews seem really decent... I plan on running optical from Apple TV to Dac, then Analog from Dac to reciever for 2ch and also optical from dac to receiver for 5.1 videos... Thanks

I have been considering an AppleTV for the longest time, but even a big fanboy like me can admit that it is very locked down. I just got a new Mini and used the migration assistant to migrate my accounts and files from my old Mac to the new one. However, when I launch iTunes, my AppleTV is not showing in the left-bar or the Preferences. It used to show and sync just fine with my old Mac. I have the latest update running on the AppleTV (3.0.1) and am running the latest Mac OS (10.6.2) and iTunes (9.0.2)....

My AppleTV is less than two months old and has been updated to 3.01. I've noticed recently that the HD seems to be constantly spinning and 'clicking', even when not in use, which is annoyingly loud in a quiet room. It also does this whilst playing music which is usually fine except during quiet pieces. Is this normal or is something not quite right with the ATV?...

Apologies if this is answered in another thread. Can it be confirmed that the latest versions of AppleTV and Boxee still work well with the BBC Iplayer? We were badly burned by a previous system upgrade removing this functionality, so we have avoided upgrading to the new ATV 3.0.1 until we're certain that all is well. Thanks a lot.

I have Itunes 9.0.2 (25) and just updated iPhoto 8.1.1 (419) and when I try to synch with my AppleTv 3.0.1 I get an error -50 trying to sync the photos. If I unselect photo sync it will work sync just fine. Also I am now unable to select individual events or photos. That option is now grayed out in ITunes. Handbrake 0.9.3 just turned a year old and although it's an excellent .VOB to H.264 encoder it's feeling a little long in the tooth.
