i need a good antivirus program that's compatible with win7 x64 and an SSD, doesn't have a large footprint for resources, and yet is quick, and effective. I'm leaning towards NOD32, but i'm not sure if i'm misguided. It also has to be able NOT to interject when gaming. Any suggestions would be appreciated Jason

Here is an excellent, free program that works in conjunction with whatever antivirus program you have installed. No conflict, it works quietly in the background. It is particularly effective in catching Zero Day malware (programs that cause havoc because there is not enough time for traditional programs to find it, test it, and have it entered into their definitions that you download)....

I am not able to run any antivirus program it seems or anything that would help fix this problem. I have tried using Trend Micro Antivirus but when I start a scan it starts then hangs at the same file, I try webroot Spysweeper with antivirus and it just says Connection to the program engine has been lost or terminated, I tried spybot, malwarebytes, and HijackThis and they all say Windows cannot...

The system is most likely low on resources, or the filter process binary was modified. If the resources are available, check the search binaries with an antivirus program. Hi, I still recommend avoid using system to banking things until it's been cleaned. Current logs don't tell all of present situation in your system so it's hard to say if there's threat that could grab banking details. Download The Avenger by Swandog46 from here . Unzip/extract it to a folder on your desktop. Double click on avenger.exe to run The Avenger . Click...

I used to love KIS - but 2010 is a mess, and while on a HDD the impact on performacen isn't too large, I'm sorry to say that KIS 2010 + SSD is a bad idea as KIS just slows it down I suggest Microsoft Security Essentials for SSD usage. (I also miss the advertisment blocker from KIS... ) Edit: And Microsoft Security Essentials is free too

As already stated, Windows Defender is Anti-Spyware. Use Vista's built-in Firewall. For an Anti-virus: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html Avast Anti-Virus is XP, Vista and Windows 7 compatible, FREE, auto-updating, and a low resources user of your computer. And, only have 1(one) Anti-Virus installed / running on your computer at any one time....
