Why would anyone with Crohn's opt for surgery and/or drugs such as Remicade or Humira instead of Tysabri if they take the upcoming JC Assay and they test negative for JC antibodies and thus have virtually no PML risk. If anyone was still worried they could retake the JC Assay every so often in order to have extra peace of mind while taking Ty for Crohns. Crohns could once again become a big ...

So I went in for my "routine" appointment and was told that I tested positive for Anti-E Antibodies (w/blood drawn 3 weeks ago). My doc said that it meant that worst case scenario that my blood was attacking the baby's blood. However he didn't seem all that concerned. He seemed pretty sure it was lab error, but that I should have my blood drawn just in case. He just called. My titers ...

I was planning on BFing my baby throughout cold/flu season to help her not get sick. My SIL told me that only the initial COLUSTRUM produced in the first few days has immunities and antibodies and after that is gone it is just enriched milk. So she is saying that there is no need to continue to BF to pass along immunities/antibodies. Can someone clarify this for me? (I will be asking my...

I was recently diagnosed with high Antiphospholipid Antibodies (APA), but everything I have read says this points to miscarriage. However, I have never even been pregnant. Does anyone out there have APA that affected implantation?

“Peregrine's PS-targeting antibodies such as bavituximab represent an entirely new mechanism that has already shown considerable promise for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases, while Cotara has shown promising survival benefits in patients suffering from the worst form of brain cancer. I welcome the opportunity to work with the Peregrine team to help advance these promising ...

Hi all, I hope it's ok to post this here. I have Lupus Anticoagulant Antibodies but not Lupus itself (so far!). I have never had a blood clot but was on lovenox throughout my pregnancy. I am cleared for WLS and want an RNY but my surgeon wants to do a band because she says if I ever do need to be anticoagulated I am at risk for complications after a bypass She isn't unwilling to do RNY and...

Excerpts From the full BLOOD ARTICLE Lenalidomide Induces CD154 Transmembrane Protein Expression on CLL Cells Normal B cells generally do not express CD154, whereas CLL cells have increased CD154 expression at an mRNA level 35, 36 but rarely express this at the protein level. We hypothesized that lenalidomide was promoting the ...

Meaning, do the mother's antibodies that she made after getting vaccinated will be passed to her baby? Does that make sense to anybody else? It does in my mind, but I had a really long night last night so ...

Hi, new to this site but have read many of the questions and responses. Not sure if this question was ever asked but is there a difference in accuracy of detecting antibodies if one uses blood vs. saliva in a Oraquick test?
