Ok I was just thinking I need therapy. So how are anti-depressants useful for a guy who has real problems? How will they solve his problems? Will they artifically make him happy? If yes, I think I need them. http://exploitgiallo.blogspot.com/

So, I'm about 15 days clean, from a 5+ year , daily oxycontin habit (40-300mg per day). The Physical W/Ds are mostly gone, but I still suffer from anxiety, depression, night sweats, flushing of skin occasionally, and lethargy I'm wondering if I should attempt to get on antidepressants, or just suck it up, and ride it out? Or, is there anything else I could ask my doctor ...

This is more of a questions for a mental health professional, which I am NOT. But, from my experience (I took anti-depressants from age 11 to age 18) & I have to say, the main side effect I had was weight gain. Of course, I often changed anti-depressants, because they DO stop working on SOME people. My anti-depressants led me to more anxiety, & ...

You're CHOOSING to stress out over it. I didn't find it nearly as bad as people claimed it would be (one person told me to think of how bad it could be and multiply by 10 to get an accurate idea of what the experience is like...), and I have tendencies toward anxiety. Make sure your kid is well-rested going into erb (if not done already) and playdates, have vague answers in mind for interview ...

I was just prescribed a very low dose of Cipralex yesterday. I forgot to ask my doctor if it's okay with breastfeeding, and her office is closed now for the weekend and our healthlinks hotline is useless (they'll just tell me to go to the ER or call her office when it opens on Monday). Is anyone else bfing and on Cipralex? Are they okay together?

Does anyone know of any studies that show a link between Anti-depressants (SSRIs) and increased sebum production? I'm curious about how these drugs effect serotonin and norepinephrine and how those changes might effect hormones and ultimately sebum production. I'm also curious about other meds such as xanax, clonopin, etc... Please share any scientific studies. personal stories are ok, ...

Guys, Who here has dated women on anti-depressants? Do you think it is a losing proposition in the long run? Besides killing their sex drive, I've noticed mood swings and everything else under the sun. Not to mention extended release-xanax. That's real convenient for the person doing the dumping. There loaded up on benzodiazepines while you're left to walk out in the street to ...

soheartbroken, this struck a chord with me and my ex >The ADs gave her the courage/ability to do something that she couldn't do a year ago without them. She used me as a crutch while she became strong enough to end it.

Has anyone used anti deps. for a short period of time just to give themselves the boost or emotional stability necessary to get through a tough time period? I'm referring to using anti deps for like 1-2 weeks or even less perhaps a couple of days or so. Even for people taking MDMA, have u taken anti deps for like a week afterwards?

I too have experienced depression in the past and it just angers me to think that some people choose to appear depressed as a lifestyle choice (fucking emos as you said). I suppose it makes me suspect everyone for some reason.

I personally thought antidepressants helped me get a new non-drug centered life. I wasn't a depressed person before taking opiates. When I came off opiates, I felt like I had depression from the sudden like of drugs. Because I knew that I had to change my entire attitude and lifestyle, I asked to be put on antidepressants, mood stabilizers, ADHD meds temporarily (6-9)months so ...

I havent read the other replies so sorry if Im repeating, but anti-depressants dont solve problems, they (sometimes) help you cope a bit better so you can solve them yourself. Ive personally been on anti depressants on and off for nearly 20 years, and for me, theyre useless, in fact theyve made things much much worse sometimes. But everyone is different, and so responds different.

Replying to: FM and anti depressants Have you discussed with your doctor the non-drug things you can do for your problems? Since you have drug allergies, and are already on a lot of drugs, that may be a good route to go. Discuss cognitive behavioral therapy with him. I found it worked well for depression and anxiety. Some of the drugs have a cross sensitivity with sulfa drugs, so your ...
