What size CB antenna/radio do you run? Or at least which would you recommend? I'm in the market to Get one and was wondering what tips I could get. I'll take anything you can say about them.

I've read some conflicting statements in the past years about placement of the XM radio antenna. I have Garmin Zumo 550. When I installed it this time last year, it seemed that the consensus was that the antenna is much better placed outside the fairing due to improved reception. This is the same reason a car XM radio antenna is placed on roof if OEM installed and in windshield if ...

I am putting a am/fm radio/cd player back in my rig. I threw away the antenna setup. Can one hook up a short (2ft) cb radio antenna to replace a stock am/fm antenna?

Does anyone know the type of antenna cable used in the JK? It is not the "standard" am/fm radio cable, i'm looking to relocate the antenna and need an cable extension. The factory cable/antenna assembly is labeled "TYCO" and in appearance it looks like a GPS type cable, any ideas?

Hi I put a touchscreen radio/cd/mp3 player in over the weekend. Everything works great, but hooking the antenna wire off the new headunit causes the 10 Amp accesory fuse to blow. I tried powering it off the cigarrette lighter (separate circuit) but still blows the same fuse (backfeeding?) So how do I power the antenna up down switch so I can use it whenever? Without it relying on the radio, ...

Hello All, I am in the process of installing an Amp in my car and currently I have the amp power cable from the battery to the amp running along the driver side. I was wondering if I would get signal issues with my Sirius radio if the sirius antenna cable was near the power cable for the amp? Thanks for the help! -J...

I have a 2007 VUE that I am installing a new Radio/Nav system, to replace the one that was stolen. Behind the radio there are some jacks that are unsed with the standard radio. Since the XM radio was an option and there is a XM compatable antenna it would make since that there is a connection under the dash to the XM antenna. Does anyone know where the connection is? I feel it is one of the ...

XM will work better if you are in the south USA. The sats are over the equator and thus higher in the sky the further south you go. Up north it's quite possible your body or metal bits may block the signals depending on the direction you may be traveling. XM also has terrestrial transmitters in larger cities that can be so strong you don't even need the antenna hooked up if you are ...

I would just put a good mag mount (K40, Formula 1 etc) in the center of the roof. A lot less hassle installing, easier to mount, and better performance due to the big ground plane provided by the roof surface.

Thank you Gerald, for posting this! I am currently studying to get my HAM license and have admired your Treg and how it is kitted up. Currently, I am working with a hot rod shop to fabricate a grille guard and would like to incorporate this with the design.
