Please excuse my hostility, but I'm mad as hell. I had surgery on the west coast and had no problem getting an anesthesiologist to do the case. I do not want an AA or CRNA doing my anesthesia. I recently moved to the east coast (PA) and unfortunately need more surgery; I have been unable to find any place (hospital or surgicenter) that will provide an anesthesiologist 1:1. Every place says that...

Damn. I thought he was just a general physician. Anesthesiologist >>>>>>>>> General Physician. If you're looking for sympathy, it's in the dictionary between sh!t & syphilis.

I go to meet with the anesthesiologist today. I know it has been said a lot lately, but we are getting really close. Everyday I am reminded how much closer we are by something that I have to do. We are almost there!

With my DD I had to be induced and never even had to go through much pain. I got my epi pretty quickly because the anesthesiologist was going into do a C-section and I didn't want to miss my window. Anyways, I've been walking around for a week at 4cm and 80% effaced. I realize it could be another week. I'm 39weeks tomorrow. Just wondering how quickly your labor progressed if you were ...

My son is going to have his fifth surgery on Tues. and hopefully his last!!! The anesthesiologist just called me to ask the normal routine questions and everything sounded normal except for one little detail. She told me no food or drink after midnight, which I knew, but then she said to continue him on clear liquids (white grape juice, clear pedialyte, sprite) until 2 hrs. prior to his ...

my son had surgery on his feet and I just got the insurance claim summary in the mail. The surgeon charged $2700 total. Blue Cross/Blue Shield is only allowing $350. THIS was REAL surgery - in a real operating room with a real anesthesiologist (and a few nurses). It took about an hour. How in the world could they justify giving the doc only $350??
