Should I buy amsoil 100% full synthetic for my 2005 wrx and my fiance's 2010 2.5i? The reason I ask, I've heard not to run synthetic oil in the turbo model subaru engines, because it breaks the oil down? Not sure if thats true or false? I've been running mobil 1 full synthetic in my car since I got it with 35k and now I have 80k. My plan is to switch to amsoil and go 25k or once a year between ...

Hi gang, Just a quick question, possibly for the Amsoil guys. How do you feel about running Amsoil XL for longer than 6 months, if the mileage on the oil at the 6 month mark is only 4500 miles? They say its good for closer to 7500. Is it just a suggestion to help differentiate the Amsoil products? 6 month 7500 vs 12 month 25K? Thanks.

I have just read http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/sso.aspx Question about four-ball test Tests prove that AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 provides BEST protection against wear than other motor oils (see graph). Did someone independent tests of motor oils Amsoil 0W30, 5W30 and ASTM D4172 (four-ball wear test)? Is oil Amsoil indeed the best, or is it unfair advertising?

Can anyone comment on these two MTF fluids in their Honda/Acuras? From what I can gather the Amsoil is a superior fluid, (in terms of shifting feel and longevity), but it's far more expensive. Trying to see if it's worth the extra cost..

I have heard that with amsoil ATF that you still need MoPar friction modifier and also I have heard that it already has it in it. Reading their site it looks as if it does have some kind of friction modifier in it. Can anybody confirm if the amsoil atf-4 is supposed to be a replacement for the mopar atf-4 and friction modifier or just the mopar atf? AMSOIL - Synthetic Universal Automatic ...

I used the turkey baster method to replace the factory fill PSF in my wife's 2006 Pilot with Amsoil PSF. The vehicle has racked up 62K miles since she drove it off the lot new in May 2006. Long story short, Honda PSF is clear and somewhat amber when new. The factory fill in my wife's Pilot, however, had turned dark brown and was almost black. The fluid didn't have a burnt smell, but certainly ...

Switched last year from Mobil 1 to Amsoil 10w30. I drive about 10k a year and wanted to switch to an oil that would get me through 1 season, rather than 2 Mobil 1 changes. Last data on sheet was a 7k interval with Mobil 1. This was a 10k interval with Amsoil 10w30. Mods are K&N FIPK, HKS exhaust, lead foot. Car has 77k on it. I added 4 or 5 quarts during this interval. This oil had 4k of...

I wanted to give feedback on my recent oil change. This last change I went with the Series 3000 SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (HDD), this is the Sixth different oil from Amsoil I have used in my Evo. First I started with the ASL 5w-30, then the ATM 10w-30, then the SSO 0w-30, then the Dominator 10w-30, and the last change before my recent was AMO 10w-40. With this change my ...

This is a fill of 4.5 quarts Amsoil ASM 0W20 that I put in November 1, 2008 with a Mobil 1 filter (believe M-103 but will check the number on the filter again). Air filter was stock filter, replaced this OCI with a wix filter. I still have the oil filter if anyone wants it cut open. Ran 1 year. Probably 90% of it was severe service, 1.5 mile drive to work, sit for an hour then drive on to the...

I've been driving past a mini mall and on the ends are Amsoil banners. So today on my lunch hr I stopped in to see what was going on. Guy has opened a whole store with every Amsoil product available. Kinda neet being able to walk into a store and get something vs ordering it and waiting for it to show up.

I've gone thru about 2 pints of the Amsoil PSF doing drain and fills, and I am not too happy. The steering is notchy when cold ( not cold yet here ), and i would hope there's a better solution out there. Can i SAFELY use ATF in the system, and would it void my warranty if i do? What would you recomend? Vehicle 08 GMC Savanna with the 6.0.

The other day I changed the oil on our newly acquired 2004 Honda Odyssey to Amsoil 0W-20. According to the Amsoil website, it requires the EaO-13 filter. When I went to change the filter, I discovered that the old filter (VO-39 from Valvoline) was quite a bit larger in outside diameter than the EaO-13 filter with which I replaced it. Everything seems to work fine so far, but I'm a little ...
