As part of a condition of my VBAC pursuit, I had to do a 35 week U/S yesterday to check the baby's weight & my fluids. (I have GD & DD was almost 10lbs & that weight check U/S was dead on 2 years ago) Our baby is in the 42% so I was really, really excited about that. I can't see how my OB could be concerned about size if I continue to keep my ...

Has anyone else had low amniotic fluid? I had an ultrasound this a.m. and they said it was in the normal range but on the low side. They are going to give me another u/s next Monday and if it's still low I'll be induced! I hope it's OK to walk around w/ low fluid for a week..... anyone BTDT? I'm a bit nervous I guess! Otherwise everything looked great! Baby is already over 7 lbs and I've...

As far as I know, I'm not--but my I just found that the reason my sister-in-law delivered three weeks early was because she was losing Amniotic fluid and didn't know it, This is the third person I've heard to have a similar problem. How would I know the difference between normal discharge and amniotic fluid?

Well my Doctor told me I have too much amniotic fluid and she was sending me to a specialist, but a very good friend of mine went to that same specialist and has HORRIBLE things to say about him. He said the specialist told her a lot of negative things and in a very blunt way. To the point that he even told her that she may have to make a decision of whether she wanted to keep the baby after ...

I just had my 27 week check and my uterus is measuring large and the doctor said I seem to have a lot of fluid. Set up an U/S for next week and checking for diabetes. Anyone else having this problem and the concern that goes with it?!

Hi girls! I feel dumb with this question as I feel like I should know the answer to it but I dont! I have been having a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions over the last week, and some have been accompanied by a slightly period type crampy feeling, but nothing terrible. Well, tonight the The BH contractions are really pretty frequent and I definitely have the slightly crampy/lower back pain ...

I have been having problems this whole pregnancy with too much amniotic fluid. The last 2 doctors I have seen told me I would never make it to 40 weeks. I will be 39 tomorrow and still very pregnant. At my 38 week appt. I was 1 cm 70% effaced. So today I thought for sure I would make progress and my doctor told me he would induce me at 39 weeks. When he checked me he said I was still a 1 ...

Thanks ladies. He never mentioned breaking my water but I am assuming he will do this if I progress any. I get to go in Monday for an exam and I am going to do everything possible even if it is going from a 1 to a 2. Atleast that is progress :) Good luck to all of you. Hopefully the uterus can't hold on to our babies and fluid no longer and we get lucky. Have a happy new years. Bonnie

I'm in the same boat. Actually, I have a weird situation where the maternal/fetal medicine where I get sent for my ultrasounds is much more nervous than my OB. So they want me to do another scan next week "to be safe." When i told him, he said that the scans for fluid were the least accurate scans in obstetrics, because the baby could shift and suddenly reveal more fluid. When i see him tomorrow...

I can completely appreciate that OTHERS may change their minds about things like this. I have no issue with that at all. But I am 100% positive FOR ME that it would not happen TO ME. If someone else has a change of heart after they say that, I respect it and I wish them all the best success in the world with it. But it isn't something that I would do, and I am completely certain about that. ...

I was induced during my last pregnancy becuase of too much fluid.... during delivery, I heard the Dr and Nurses talking about how I didn't really have that much fluid afterall. So, don't worry too much about this - remember its all a sophisticated estimate from the ultrasound - until you know more. But, if you trust your friend and their experience - then certainly ask for another referral...

I had oligohydramnios with my first child. I found out when I was 16 weeks pregnant at a routine ultra sound. That same day my doctor along with 3 other specialists could not determine the reason for it. They found no fluid leaking out and no health problems with the baby but none the less they painted the worst picture, telling me that I would almost certainly lose the baby and soon. If I ...
