Hi all. I have a Dell Dimension E510. About a year ago I started getting the dreaded flashing amber light, which I'm sure many of you are familiar with. If not it basically goes like this: I try to start up my computer and am greeted with only a flashing amber light in place of the normal green light, and the computer refuses to start. I've used all the "quick fixes" over the past year to...

I have an Airport extreme and an Airport express. Both work fine. I want to add a second airport Express and I can't seem to get it out of flashing amber mode. I have tried resetting the device (get it to blink amber quickly while holding reset), but it still doesn't recognize the new Airport Express. My base station is about 3 feet from the new adapter. If it matters, I am running ...

Please help. I am new to wireless and am confused by answers that mix up streaming from iTunes with setting up a computer-to-computer network, etc. etc. I am "simply" trying to stream music from my 7-month-old iMac using its Airport Extreme card as the base. (That is the right language, I think.) I turn Airport on in the menu bar. Then I connect the minijack to my Airport ...

Hi there. My Airport Express is hanged on the start up routine. It flash a green light for a second, then the amber for around 60 seconds and a new green flash just to start again with the one minute amber light, and so and so... and I can't see it in the airport utility. Any idea how to deal with this issue? Thanks in advance....

I'm trying to use my Airport Express to create a wireless network in my home using a Linksys CM100 modem. I've reset and restarted the Airport Express manually at least a dozen times and using the Airport Utility on my Macbook with no luck. When I go through the set up to establish a new network, Airport Utility shows a green light next to my AE and the airport icon in the menu bar ...

I've got a Dimension 5150 that refuses to boot. On/Off switch is flashing amber, and hard drive LED is lit. Dell suggests power unit is OK, and the problem is elsewhere. Anybody got an answer? Thank you

The amber light (LED ?) stopped functioning on my '05 C240 wagon. Anyone know if this is an easy fix/replacement or does the mirror need to be replaced? The auto-dim is working, so I presume power is getting to the mirror. The light is nice to have but I can live without if it's a big deal. Thanks in advance.

I woke up today finding that the light near the power button, just above the AC adapter plug-in, is flashing amber. What does that mean? Anyone knows / experienced the same thing? Ps. My family is moving; the whole house is a mess and I can't find the laptop user manual.

Hi all, Discovery TD5 2002. After the recent snows, the ace light is now on amber (orange) constantly. Handbook says it's ok to drive but have it checked by nearest LR dealer. We use a local independant garage, and they plugged the car into a diagnostic computer, which reads every other system but not the ACE system ! Any suggestions ? Cheers.

I connected by an ethernet patch as you said and thought I had everything right. It found the AX and it was named according to the last 6 digits (although the last digit is a "6" on the AX and a "7" in the name.) It continued to ask about some other setups that I didn't understand, but it seemed to be working. The light on the AX turned green and stayed green when I disconnected...

Happy New Year to you as well! Sorry to hear that the AX is not working. If you are handy with small electronic repairs, it is possible to repair the power supply section of the AX. See the attached link for some ideas, although this is not for the faint of heart. http://echoone.com/airport-express/...

Thanks for the replies. The CMOS battery I used was from Radio Shack. It worked onjce or twice, but eventually the amber light came back. So the fact that unplugging the HDD worked so many times doesn't necessarily mean it's a faulty PSU? I'm leaning towards just trying a new power supply but was hoping for some confirmation that it was probably the problem... thanks again, and keep...

So far I have tested the heat - played trine for a while and never went above 71 degrees C. Bioshock shows a max of 69 degrees. Also, I had already tried the card in another computer and the lockups seemed to go away. At that time, I was able to consistently get trine to lock up in the same spot. It didn't happen on the other computer. And the old video card I swapped it out for in my new ...

Try a Factory Default Reset on the AirPort Express (AX) as follows: Power the AX down for 5-10 minutes Hold in the reset button and keep holding it in as you plug the AX back in to power Release the reset button after 8-10 seconds If you try the Factory Default Reset a few times and still cannot configure the device, I'm afraid that there is nothing else that you can do to ...

Hi, Gerry: Unfortunately, there seem to be a large number of posts reporting this same problem. I recently helped a guy on another forum by pointing him to this thread, where the solution involved replacing the front I/O board: http://en.community.dell.com/forums/p/18929205/193 95007.aspx Let me know if that's helpful.

Same deal with my E510. I've tried every single "quick fix" out there. Most of them work once or twice, and then I have to move on to something else. About 2 months ago I noticed that the comp would boot up EVERY TIME if I unplugged the HDD first, and then powered up (quickly plugging the HDD back in before startup progressed). This worked perfectly for a while, but eventually, like ...
