If I plugged my Windows 7 pc into an Airport Express via ethernet cable would it allow me to connect to my Airport Extreme wirelessly at 5 GHz and best possible speed? Or would it be best to get a dual band wifi dongle to do this? Any advice much appreciated.

I'm trying to add an airport express unit to my current wireless network so that I can do wireless printing. Well actually it's been in the network for several years but has suddenly stopped working. I am using the 192.168.2... ip addresses and have set my router, with DHCP, to assign ip addresses above 192.168.2.50 so that I can assign static ip addresses to other devices below ...

I would really appreciate advice from the network gurus. I had a system which worked pretty well using an iMAC, Airport Extreme, one of the old AirPort expresses (b/g) and a new AirPort Express(n). I had some blackout spots in the house and occasionally my music would stop and restart so I thought perhaps by shifting things round a little bit I could improve matters. My first problem is ...

I just bought Time Capsule to replace my Airport Express. The wireless connection and internet hook-up work seamlessly. I was told, and read, that I can use my Airport Express to connect to my stereo and stream music from Itunes. I have followed the directions (which say you do not need a hook-up to the modem) and I get nothing but a flashing amber light. I've opened Airport Utility ...

I purchased the Airport express with the intent of streaming my iTunes Library to my stereo. I went through several configuartion options with it finally configuring when I connected connecting the express to my router via an ethernet cable. When I bring the express back upstairs to the room where my stereo is, (after disconnecting ethernet cable), express is not discovered by the ...

I just purchased an airport express yesterday and from what I understood from the mac salesperson was that I should plug the ethernet cable into the fios modem and then into the airport express and then plug the airport express in. All I'm getting is a flashing amber light and my mac mini (10.4.1) doesn't see the airport express. I've tried resetting the airport express and the modem ...

I have a HP Photosmart C4200 printer which I have had connected to my airport express unit and printing satisfactorily for ages. It was plugged in via a USB cable and I'd given it a static ip address for printing from a UNIX system. I'd got it printing from Windows laptops, Linux laptops and the iMac. It suddenly stopped working earlier in the year and I just plugged it directly into ...

I have just bought an Apple airport express from ebay. I tried setting it up last night for a few hours but had no luck. I have a virginmedia set-up, with cable modem and a belkin wireless router. I basically want to stream my itunes from my desktop PC to the airport express downstairs to my stereo. However the desktop is plugged into the back of the router and doesn't use wireless...

Hi, Im new with Macs and I just got my hands on an old 2004 G5 tower. The tower is in my room which has no direct connection to a broadband ethernet. I was told that if I buy an airport express I can use this as a wireless receiver for the G5 in my room but im unsure. Is this ...

Ladies & Gentlemen... After a week of work, two frustrated Apple Genius Bar workers, a stumped local Mac user group, and an increasingly irritated wife, may I beg assistance with the following setup: I purchased an Asus Eee netbook (top of the line with 10.5" screen, Intel processor, 1G RAM, 130G HDD, Win XP, etc.) for the sole purpose of having it run iTunes & serve music to my living room ...

Hi All I have recently added a PS3 to my collection. I am having issues keeping a stable internet connection up to it in our living room. I am thinking of buying an Airport Express to put in our living room to extend our Wifi network but would prefer to connect the PS3 directly via Ethernet. I am wondering if it is possible to connect the PS3 via Ethernet on a new latest model ...

I recently bought a second-hand AirPort Express to expand my home’s wireless network, which is already comprised of two other Airport Expresses relaying internet. I plug in my Airport Express, and it begins to blink its amber light, indicating it’s ready to be set up. I go on to my Windows Vista laptop, and open the Airport Utility to set it up. I am readily able to enter the ...

I set up my Airport Express to connect into my existing home wireless network just so I can run AirTunes through my stereo system. It all set up fine, and I am able to select Airport Express as my speaker choice in iTunes on three networked computers (two laptops both running Win XP and a desktop running Windows 7). However, one of the laptops loses its connection to my home network a ...

So I'm trying to decide which one to buy - Apple TV or Airport Express. My iMac is in the room next door, but I want to stream music over the speakers in my den. Now that I have the Remote application on my iPhone - the music selection process is MUCH more user-friendly. So I know I want to stream music, but what if I want to stream video, podcasts, or other media? I know I know - ...

I discovered that by using an airport express with the 802.11n network (most recent update model as of this post) is capable of using a third party USB hub for multiple printers. I have an all in one EPSON as well as a wide format EPSON and two DYMO thermal printers. All work fine using the Kensignton PocketHub 7-Port USB which includes an AC adaptor to power devices. I previously had ...
