I'm about to install a Stebel air horn on my S50 and the mounting options are limited. For those of you who have taken this apart into its two pieces, are there any tips/tricks getting it apart without cracking the black plastic trumpets where they attach to the compressor? Anyone have any pics on their installation on an S50 or VS800?

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows the amp rating of the standard FZ6 horn relay. I have just bought a Stebel compact horn and noticed that the provided relay is 30amp. It would save a whole lot of work if the Yamaha relay was up to the 30amp pull.....Would be just a case of removing the Yamaha horn and bolting up the Stebel. Any advice would be good...........Cheers guys. ...

I've been reading a lot lately about the pro's and con's of milling the air horns down. Just wondering who has done it successfully as well as any thought on the K&N Stub Stacks. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1 01214

I was wondering if anyone has something like this... Four Trumpet Chrome Air Horn #V003K I want to put something like this under the hood to connect up to the current horn. I like the sound of this one, I just don't want to do the whole huge air compressor deal. Also wondering if there is any major delay with this type item. Thanks!...

I haven't heard anything bad (longevity) on the horn itself, just the relay that comes with the kit. I mounted mine behind the left side of the fairing, just sticking out from the inner black fairing. I made a short bracket out of 1/8" aluminum(approx 1" wide), drilled one hole in the fairing main stay and tucked it in neatly. You can't see it unless you look for it... Scott

Thanks, I saw all those threads, I just wondered if there were any problems or tips in getting apart into the 2 pieces without cracking the plastic if i decide to mount it in 2 parts instead of one. I was actually thinking of making a short bracket and bolting it down under the front bolt on the left side of the front cylinder head side cover. Before I do that, is there any problem in removing...

Startup current for the Stebel measures at 15 amps. Use the relay. On touring models, the relay will drop right into the spare relay spot under the seat, that is for the siren on police units. You will need to lengthen the wires to reach the relay spot. You can also use the in-line fuse or modify the harness to put the fuse in the siren fuse slot in the fuse block. Soon I will take mine the rest...
